Last month Salesforce announced the arrival on the market of Work.com. For the Customer Relationship Management software publisher, this is the first SaaS offering firmly focused on human resources.

Work.com is a platform dedicated to performance management with its strength and specific nature in a social network. The tools are designed to improve employee engagement and effectiveness in this new social environment.

Towards more engaged employees?

ScreenHunter_01-Sep-26-12-05.jpgAccording to a study conducted by The Gallup Organization, poor productivity each year represents a cost of 300 billion US dollars for American companies. Among the reasons given is a lack of solid engagement representing 79% of employees in their work. With Facebook recording close to one billion active users worldwide, Salesforce has decided to tap into the strength of a social network to improve the quality of interaction in the workplace. Lightening the weight of the hierarchy, reducing administrative formalities, simplifying discussions…  This is the direction taken by this American company that intends to revolutionize the way people work.

A first step in the HR world

In Work.com there are a certain number of tools including those for managing individual and collective goals, motivating staff by a system of recognition and rewards in real time and performance evaluation. For Salesforce it’s a first step in the field of human resources which is sure to involve adjustments and developments in the future. In the meanwhile, Work.com should be available by the end of the year.
