Reporting to the LaSalle College Business Partner, the Talent Consultant will provide advice to managers and employees by offering guidance on various human resources issues. He/she will work closely with the HR Business Partner to ensure that files are managed in a consistent manner and that strategic objectives are achieved in line with the organization's values and culture.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Support the Business Partner in her daily responsibilities by:

  • Acting as a liaison between the school organization and program managers when creating lecturers' contracts, making corrections to contracts following changes in course load (sickness replacement, extra load, course restart, etc.);
  • Ensuring the processing of changes in employee files and all other clerical tasks related to the needs of the department (revising seniority lists, carrying out education evaluations, carrying out the contractual process related to salary increases and the various bonuses to be paid, etc.); 
  • Assisting internal clients in the interpretation and proper application of collective agreements and applicable labor laws and regulations;
  • Acting as a bridge between internal clients and specialized departments (payroll, recruitment, training and development, communications, etc.); 
  • Coordinating human resources management activities in its sectors (staffing, workforce planning, conflict management, discipline, harassment complaints, etc.);
  • Participating in the development and updating of human resources management policies and procedures;
  • Supporting first-level managers in managing their teams; 
  • Providing leadership in problem solving through a collaborative approach, while ensuring consistency across the organization;
  • Advising, supporting and coaching employees and managers in various human resources management activities.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in industrial relations or human resources;
  • Member of the Ordre des conseillers en ressources humaines agréés, an asset;
  • Minimum of three years experience in human resources management in a similar field and a unionized environment (an asset).

PERSONAL AND PROFESSIONAL SKILLS

  • Proficiency in the Windows and MS-Office environment;
  • Experience in learning, interpreting and applying collective agreements and various labor laws;
  • Knowledge of computerized human resources management systems such as
  • Ceridian's Dayforce (HRIS);
  • Good communication skills with various stakeholders, negotiation and facilitation skills;
  • Customer service oriented, team player and continuous improvement oriented;

  •  Autonomy, sense of responsibility, initiative and thoroughness;
