The Opportunity:

We have an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated Human Resources Advisor to join our dynamic HR team on a permanent basis supporting the full range of HR functions. Our HR Advisors are expected to have broad knowledge and provide HR generalist services to internal clients and may also be assigned as a subject matter expert for one or more HR subject areas. Reporting to the People & Organizational Effectiveness Manager, the Human Resources Advisor is responsible for:

  • Conducting research for industry standards and best practices and providing recommendations for the development of HR guidelines, planning and strategy;
  • Providing proactive consultation, recommendations and advisory services to assigned business unit;
  • Advisory services will include, but are not limited to, the following: recruitment processes, on-boarding and off-boarding processes, performance management, disability case management, engagement initiatives and learning and development.

What You Bring:

  • A minimum of post-secondary degree in Human Resources, business administration or related area. Equivalencies of education and experience may be considered;
  • Minimum 5 years experience in a generalist role;
  • CPHR or other recognized designation is preferred;
  • Experience in multiple human resources disciplines, specifically recruitment and selection, performance management, disability case management, and learning and development;
  • Ability to support client goals and build effective working relationships while adhering to HR policies;
  • Strong communication skills and ability to effectively facilitate situations with potential legal implications;
  • Ability to act as a change agent for the organization and culture champion;
  • Knowledge of process mapping and process improvement;
  • Ability to maintain a high level of trust and confidentiality;
  • Experience in problem solving, conflict resolution and investigation;
  • Strong attention to detail, time management and problem solving skills;
  • Experience with various HR Systems and Platforms (we use Laserfiche).
