About this opportunity:

Cenovus Energy is looking for an HR Analyst - Pay and Benefits reporting to the Senior Manager, Benefits and HR Operations located in Lima, OH however this individual will be required to be in Toledo, OH at least one day per week. In this role, you will provide backup for Toledo Hourly Payroll by collecting, calculating, and entering data into various payroll systems (SAP, ADP, etc.), maintaining all info, new hires, etc. while ensuring timeliness and accuracy of information.

What you'll do:

  • Back-up Toledo Hourly Payroll
    • Manual data entry of all Toledo hourly timesheets
    • Resolve payroll discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information.
    • Prepare and distribute timesheet procedures for all newly hired employees, providing payroll information by answering questions and requests.
  • Time / Leave Management for Salaried Toledo employees.
    • STD/FMLA time administration and tracking, including communication with Sedgwick, employees, and on-site providers
    • Worker's comp time tracking
    • Parental leave time-off tracking, including communication with the employee
    • Military leave time tracking
    • Frequent review of banks
  • Back up Timesheet data entry for Lima Hourly; Back-up for CESI and CEUSL payrolls.
  • Respond to verification of employment requests promptly.
  • Maintain Employee Health, Welfare, and Retirement data across all platforms. (Note: expanded responsibility for all full-time terminations.)
  • Deliver employee benefit orientation and open enrollment sessions.
  • Assist employees with various benefits questions/issues.
  • Initiate Long Term Disability claims for employees and assist them through the application process.
  • Initiate certificate of creditable coverage letters upon request for employees' qualifying events.
  • Generate/reconcile monthly/quarterly invoices (Sedgwick, Harness Health Partners, Mercy Health, UNUM, VSP, CHARTIS, Cigna and Vanguard).
  • Complete compliant reports, letters, and other paperwork as requested and participate in audits as necessary.
  • Initiate new Premium Reimbursement Accounts (PRA) for eligible retirees and PRA changes
  • Process retiree medical payments monthly.
  • Prepare wire transfers for Cigna claims' funding and ensure it is properly funded at all times.
  • Perform other duties as required.

Who you are:

  • Must be legally eligible to work in the USA.
  • Associate's degree in Business Administration/Human Resources
  • 2+ years of human resources work experience
  • 20% (1 day per week) of the time spent at our Toledo location.

Preferred:

  • Thorough knowledge and proficiency of HR systems and reporting tools.
  • Proficient in MS Office Applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Maintain confidentiality, integrity, tact, and diplomacy.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and work in a fast-paced environment.
