The position

The Senior Human Resource Business Partner - Eastern Region acts as a strategic partner, fostering a proactive approach to resolving employee relations issues, while contributing to the design of work processes to achieve successful business results. This role also involves collaborating with management and other managers to develop, execute and improve HR practices by supporting the achievement of business objectives and supervising team members.


What you will be responsible for:

  • Lead and mentor Eastern Region HR team
  • Provide guidance, training, and support for team success
  • Coordinate HR efforts provincially
  • Adapt strategies for different subdivisions
  • Model behavior consistent with organization's strategic direction
  • Offer subject matter expertise in HR and labor relations
  • Advise management on HR and labor relations issues
  • Provide guidance on policies, procedures, and best practices
  • Collaborate with management to implement HR programs aligned with company objectives
  • Integrate talent development programs into strategic plans
  • Continuously seek opportunities to add value and mitigate risks
  • Utilize business intelligence for decision-making and improvement opportunities
  • Implement talent management strategies for employee retention and experience
  • Develop and implement continuing education and leadership development programs
  • Advise on performance management, employee relations, and HR compliance
  • Contribute to compensation and benefits strategies for attracting and retaining top talent
  • Oversee implementation of employee engagement initiatives
  • Act as a strategic advisor to managers/leaders on HR matters and programs
  • Support managers in developing and implementing HR programs aligned with strategic objectives
  • Provide advice on recruitment, compensation, benefits, and compliance with collective agreements
  • Participate in HR and operational projects, industry committees, and working groups
  • Monitor trends and best practices in HR
  • Ensure legal and regulatory compliance in HR
  • Manage HR analyses and reports
  • Classify employee medical documents
  • Ensure follow-up with prevention mutual (PRÉVIGESST)
  • Communicate with employees on CNESST regarding accident files
  • Communicate with CNESST inspectors for inspection reports
  • Represent the employer during court hearings
  • Make decisions about injury cost strategy


What we need from you:

  • At least 5 years of experience in an HR/RT or BP consulting role with a history of progression in the field of responsibilities.
  • Bachelor's degree in human resources or any other related field.
  • Experience in unionized environments would be considered an asset.
  • In-depth knowledge of employment regulations and legislation
  • Strong knowledge of labour laws.
  • Proven ability to use office productivity software and HRIS systems (e.g. BambooHR/ADP).
  • Bilingual (French and English)
  • Expected to travel to Drummondville, Gatineau and Ottawa when required.
  • Experience in leading a small team in multiple locations.
