DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: #LI-Onsite #LI-RM1

  • Support the "Operations Excellence" initiative by being a key resource for that project and work through project requirements.
  • Facilitate the coordination and implementation of preventative strategies such as policies, procedures, safe work practices, in harmony with the Corporate Occupational Health and Safety Management System Framework in collaboration with Plant Management and Supervisors
  • Support hourly orientation and onboarding of new hires. Facilitate and organize trainings initiatives for new associates based on their assignments in conjunction with an adequate length of training
  • Facilitate all SISTEM Training for hourly associates
  • Be part of the monthly H&S meeting, take notes, make contributions, and distribute meeting minutes
  • Support Supervisors with maintaining H&S scorecard and reporting, documenting H&S incidents
  • Track trainings progress in the associate's skillset matrix to ensure that we have no trainings gaps
  • Identify annual recurring trainings needs and plan/organize the trainings time/execution with all stakeholders
  • Consult and communicate to promote health & safety and job competency in the work environment to prevent employees & property from harm and maintain a safe work environment
  • Coordinates the collection, analysis, records and, produces reports and statistical information on relevant OHSA and Training data
  • Review all accident investigations for thoroughness and provide coaching on completing the documentation. The Supervisors still have the main responsibility for this function
  • Review trainings gaps which have led to major breakdowns or failures in production (Preventative Measures program)
  • Communicates trainings gaps and needs frequently at the same platform
  • Verifies appropriate certifications are obtained and monitors for compliance either for people or equipment
  • Prioritizes, defines, and communicates the work at hand (deliverables, scope, and timelines) in a way that gains buy-in and energizes others
  • Constructs communication (written & verbal) that clearly and succinctly delivers messages in a variety of settings (1:1, small or large groups, peers, and managers) in a manner that engages the audience and encourages two-way dialogue
  • Maintains a presence on the production floor on a daily (minimum) basis to ensure availability to associates
  • Other duties as assigned

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • 1 - 3 years of progressive business/leadership experience
  • Ability to read and interpret safety, technical & statistical reports
  • Ability to work shift rotations as necessary
  • Proficient Computer Skills in MS Office; Knowledge or other statistical software, MS Project an asset
