Your Role
Reporting to the Quality, Health, Safety & Environment Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the coordination, monitoring, and training initiatives pertaining to health and safety requirements for employees within the P&H Grain Division.
Day to Day
Set up and monitor training requirements for new and current employees, including online training and third-party trainers, while maintaining detailed training reports and following up with managers to ensure completion.
Interpret and research regulatory and/or standards documents to ensure compliance when developing or updating policies and programs.
Provide coaching and guidance to P&H locations regarding health and/or food safety programs and policies.
Deliver accurate and timely reporting on safety meetings, inspections, and supportive documents.
Consolidate and organize record filing system, including third-party inspections and incidents.
Oversee the management and follow-up of incident reports, including claims management and associated documentation.
Coordinate and engage in collaborative conference calls and committee meetings dedicated to enhancing health and/or food safety initiatives and materials.
Participate in and conduct on-site internal inspections related to health and/or food safety programs, ensuring thorough assessments and implementing associated corrective actions to maintain and enhance safety standards.
Required Qualifications
Post-secondary education in Health & Safety, Food Safety, Business, or Agriculture.
5+ years of relevant experience in occupational health and safety roles.
Must be able to travel provincially and interprovincially and hold a valid driver's license.
Familiar with interpreting Health and Safety and/or Food Safety regulations and standards with a practical approach to implementation.
Effective analytical thinking skills and adept at conducting root cause analysis.
Strong organizational and time-management abilities, coupled with proficient presentation and documentation skills.
Proficient in Microsoft 365 Application Suite, with a high proficiency in Excel.
Preferred Qualifications
Hold a Canadian Registered Safety Professional (CRSP) Certification.
Previous experience in the Agricultural industry.
