We currently have fantastic opportunity for an HR Business Partner with a strong Employee Relations background to join a progressive and dynamic organization and a growing HR team in Vaughan. Reporting to the Manager of People and Culture Operations, responsibilities will include the full spectrum of best practices in the areas of employee relations, performance management, succession planning, and policies. Key focus will be building positive relationships across the business and partnering with the business leaders.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Partner closely with the business leaders to build and maintain a thorough understanding of the business and leverage these gained business insights to develop, shape and implement HR solutions
  • Provide advice and support on a wide range of HR issues to employees and leaders, in keeping with Modern Niagara's HR practices and culture
  • Provide related administrative support in the areas of organizational changes, and business operations related to HR
  • Regular communication with internal stakeholders in Human Resources policies, procedures, laws, standards and regulations
  • Provide support to the compensation planning and salary administration programs
  • Deliver support for onboarding, off boarding, promotions, and other staff movement
  • Remain current with best practices, legislative changes and industry standards
  • Perform other related duties as required

Qualifications and Job Requirements:

  • Believe in and live the Modern Niagara Core Values-Teamwork, Initiative, Dedication, Professionalism, Passion
  • Post-secondary education in Human Resources Management or a related field preferred
  • 5+ years of relevant HR experience
  • Strong working knowledge of current provincial employment laws, standards and regulations, including human rights legislation
  • Experience with conflict resolution and negotiations
  • Experience with recruiting and retention of high performing employees
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with frontline employees, peers, and executives
  • Strong interpersonal skills and organizational skills
  • Experience with driving positive cultural change in both processes and systems
  • Experience in a unionized environment an asset
  • Experience implementing and managing a cloud based HRIS or UltiPro strongly desirable
  • Resourceful, problem-solver that is energetic and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
