Position Summary

Magellan Aerospace, Limited has an exciting new opportunity for a Process Improvement Engineer. The successful incumbent will lead continuous improvement projects, focused events, workshops and other CI initiatives at Magellan divisions located globally, to achieve improvement in key KPIs, e.g., inventory reduction, lead time reduction, improved quality and delivery performance, scrap and rework reduction. Activities additionally include standardization of processes, sharing of best practices, providing training, development and implementation of policies, and providing support to various corporate councils including the Quality Council.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Leads continuous improvement projects, focused events, workshops, and other CI initiatives across the corporation to effect improvement in key KPIs, e.g., inventory reduction, lead time reduction, improved quality and delivery performance, scrap and rework reduction
  • Analyzes metrics to effect performance improvement in all areas of the business
  • Standardization of processes and tools
  • Provides training
  • Leads in the development and implementation of policies, procedures & methods to comply with customer specifications, regulatory body regiments and applicable international standards
  • Assists in the establishment, implementation and maintenance of the Magellan lean six sigma program to effect improvement in Magellan's performance
  • Supports the Magellan Countdown to Zero Defects program
  • Provides assistance to various corporate councils, including the Quality council

Position Requirements

  • University degree
  • 3 years of relevant experience
  • Experience in the aerospace industry will be considered an asset.
  • Training in Lean and Six Sigma methodology
  • Training and practice in lean manufacturing
  • Knowledge/skills in Project Management
  • Familiarity with Quality Management Systems
  • Knowledge using various MS Office applications
  • Excellent written/oral communication skills
