Westland Insurance Group Ltd is growing and has a new opportunity for a Senior Payroll Administrator our Head Office in Surrey, BC.

Expected Compensation: The expected hiring range for this role is $61,600 to $77,000 based on a 35-hour work week. Actual offered salary will depend on the successful candidate’s qualifications and experience, as well as market conditions for the role, and internal equity.

As a Senior Payroll Administrator, you will be responsible for the payroll process, ensuring employees get paid accurately, on time and in compliance with government's rules and regulations.

Why we’ll love You:
- Able to communicate confidently with internal customers and the rest of the payroll team
- Strong multi-tasking and time-management skills to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Exceptional problem solving/judgement skills, and high level of attention to detail and accuracy
- Certification by the Canadian Payroll Association as a Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP)
- 5-7 years’ full-cycle payroll experience
- Experience with different payroll software platforms and proficiency in MS-Suite and related applications – experience with Ceridian Dayforce and advanced experience with Excel preferred
- Solid understanding of different benefit plans (retirement, health & dental insurance, etc.) and relevant regulations
Once here, you'll:
- Prepare and process multi-provincial payrolls (hourly and salary) on a biweekly basis
- Establish/maintain employee records; ensure that employee changes are entered correctly and made on a timely basis
- Collaborate with work sites to ensure accurate entry to time data sheet and resolve any arising issues
- Respond to payroll and benefits related inquiries and concerns, and provide data/reports as needed
- Prepare ROE’s online each pay cycle for inactive employees
- Prepare and issue T2200s and year end T4's and filings relating to year end activities
- Monthly remittances of Workers Compensation, Employer Health Tax remittances etc.
- Stay current on relevant provincial and federal legislation
