About the role
We are currently seeking a highly motivated and organized professional to lead our Human Resources team. The Human Resources Manager will be responsible for ensuring Bloomworks attracts, develops, and retains top talent while maintaining compliance with all provincial and federal employment legislation.
Reporting to the President, this role supports operations, acting as a strategic partner to the leadership team in full-cycle recruitment, employee relations, and performance management.
Key Responsibilities
Recruitment & Staffing:

Full-cycle recruitment for all locations and Management team

Develop hiring strategies to support seasonal peaks and business growth

Conduct interviews, reference checks, and candidate evaluations

Coordinate onboarding and orientation for new employees

Build relationships with local colleges and community organizations to support talent pipelines
Employee Relations:

Act as the primary contact for employee relations matters

Support managers with coaching, progressive discipline, and conflict resolution

Promote a respectful, inclusive, and team-oriented workplace culture

Ensure confidentiality and professionalism in all employee matters
Performance Management & Leadership Development:

Assist Management team in setting performance expectations and accountability standards

Coordinate performance review processes

Help identify high-potential employees and create development plans
Health & Safety:

Ensure compliance with Occupational Health & Safety legislation and company policies

Manage leaves and coordinate and return-to-work programs
HR Administration & Compliance:

Maintain employee records and ensure compliance with Employment Standards and Human Rights legislation

Support payroll and monitor absenteeism, turnover, and workforce metrics

Update policies and procedures as needed
Culture & Employee Engagement:

Lead employee engagement initiatives, recognition programs, and retention incentives

Foster a positive culture focused on accountability, teamwork, and customer experience

Sound knowledge of employment legislation (ON, QC, NB, NS, PEI, NLFD) and HR best practices
Qualifications:

College Diploma or University Degree in HR, or Certificate in HR with related degree

5+ years in progressive HR experience

Proficient in Google Workspace, Microsoft Office, and generally tech savvy

Knowledge of current employment law including ESA, AODA, Human Rights legislation etc.

Strong written and verbal communication skills

Experience with Rise People (HR/Payroll platform) considered an asset

Experience in a remote work environment

Bilingual in French and English is an asset
Hours & Compensation:

Fully remote, preference for Eastern Time Zone

Full time, salary $60,000/year
