About the role
The Advisor, Human Capital reports to the SVP, Human Capital and provides guidance, direction and leadership on a variety of human capital initiatives, programs and projects. Both detail oriented and value-added focused, this role delivers against a broad range of human capital objectives and deadlines. This role also ensures that all SilverBirch associates have human capital support by liaising with the Human Capital Leads at the hotels as needed.
The salary range for this role is $66,379.339 – $88,284.52. The actual salary offered will be determined based on several factors, including job related knowledge, skills, qualifications, experience, education, training, and geographic location. We reserve the upper end of the salary band for internal employees who demonstrate sustained high performance.

Responsibilities and Duties:
Supports Corporate Office through the full employment life cycle by coordinating and executing a wide variety of programs to support the attraction, selection, engagement, development and retention of talent. As a trusted advisor to the business, this role provides sound counsel on the interpretation and application of human capital policies, procedures, programs and employment legislation. Leads the recruitment and selection function for Corporate Office as required by creating & updating job descriptions & postings, posting roles internally and externally, conducting resume screening, participating in interviews, coordinating background checks, preparing job offers and new hire packages, and supporting on-boarding activities. Leads the annual Sustainable Engagement Survey for the company. Ensures all timelines are met, administers the survey and provides full reporting to all stakeholders. Reviews annual results, conducts audits and provides recommendations as needed to improve performance. Participates in the development and implementation of human capital policies that support the achievement of the overall human capital strategy. Manages all aspects of the SilverBirch Corporate Office including, monthly parking, liaising with building management, developing and distributing communications and other administration tasks as needed. Leads the development and implementation of recognition programs. Manages relationships and contracts with a variety of third-party service providers to ensure service are provided in a timely and cost-effective manner. Leads human capital projects and initiatives in support of achieving overall business results. Supports a variety of health and wellness programs across the company and Corporate Office. Responsible for Corporate Office management, including timely completion of administrative tasks, maintenance of office and kitchen inventory, and ensuring a clean and organized workplace. Leads the benefits function for the organization, including managing third party relationships and annual renewal process with benefits provider. Coordinate employee communication, quarterly calls and webinars, benefits newsletters and respond to associate queries, escalating to the right stakeholder as required. Leads the annual salary administration and incentive approval and payment process. Provides clear communications and expectations to the organization and ensures all timelines are met and approvals are received on time. Leads the Corporate Office Success Committee and organizes company events, manages National Kindness Week, and other similar initiatives, as required. Tracks Performance Plan and Review (PPR) compliance, conducts audits and provides feedback to associates and managers. Perform other duties as assigned.
Skills, Knowledge and Abilities Required:
Exceptional levels of professionalism, diplomacy, tact and confidentiality. Strong analytical skills. Outstanding levels of personal and professional integrity. Full knowledge of multi provincial employment legislation required. Experience with coaching line managers in human capital processes and supporting them in strengthening their leadership skills. Demonstrated critical thinking and the ability to manage competing priorities in order to meet the needs of the organization. Experience with being the front face of the human capital discipline, representing policies and practices to managers and employees across the organization. Proven effective stakeholder management and collaboration with other teams to deliver a consistent employee experience. Effective time management, planning and organization skills. Solid influencing skills with the ability to get things done. Highly service-oriented with exceptional organizational and follow up skills. Ability to deal well with clients at all levels. High attention to detail. Excellent written and oral communication skills; experience with producing business documents. High levels of flexibility and adaptability; experience with organizational change. Ability to operate independently and manage multiple priorities at all times, with shifting deadlines. Strong computer skills are required including knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)

Experience, Training and Education:
A Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce or Business Administration specializing in Human Resource Management. Completion of CPHR Designation an asset. 2 to 4 years of progressive experience in Human Resources
