About the role
Human Resources Coordinator
Innovair Group is a proudly Canadian, Winnipeg-based independent distributor of compressed gases for commercial and healthcare use. A multiple award-winning company, we are a dynamic, people-oriented organization, recognized for our leadership, community involvement and commitment to provide our employees with a great work environment, opportunities for growth and competitive rewards.
About the role
You're early in your HR career. You've built a foundation, and now you're looking for an opportunity to learn, take on new challenges and grow alongside an experienced team.
That's exactly what this role is designed to offer.
As the Human Resources Coordinator, you'll gain hands-on experience across almost every area of Human Resources—from recruitment, onboarding and payroll to employee communications, HR technology and projects that shape the employee experience. You'll work closely with our VP, People & Culture, learning from an experienced HR leader who believes in coaching, developing people and giving them opportunities to grow.
We're also in the middle of implementing a new HRIS, making this an exciting time to join the team. You'll play an active role in bringing new systems and processes to life, helping improve how we support employees today while building for the future.
If you're naturally curious, love learning new things, enjoy solving problems and aren't afraid to jump in wherever you're needed, you'll fit right in. We're looking for someone who wants to understand how HR works behind the scenes, who asks thoughtful questions, embraces new technology and genuinely cares about creating a great employee experience.
What you'll be doing
As a key member of our People & Culture team, you'll help support every stage of the employee experience while contributing to projects that make a real impact across the organization. Your work will include:
Supporting the day-to-day administration of People & Culture programs, including employee records, onboarding, offboarding and general HR coordination. Processing payroll and supporting payroll administration with accuracy, timeliness and attention to detail. Helping implement, maintain and continuously improve our HRIS, including testing, reporting, troubleshooting, user support and process improvements. Over time, you'll become one of our internal HRIS experts. Coordinating recruitment activities, including posting positions, screening resumes, scheduling interviews and creating a positive candidate experience. Supporting onboarding to help new employees feel welcomed, informed and set up for success. Assisting with benefits administration, including enrollments, changes and disability claim documentation. Creating clear, engaging internal communications that support People & Culture initiatives, programs and events. Coordinating employee engagement initiatives, learning opportunities and company events. Maintaining HR data and preparing reports that help inform business decisions. Finding smarter ways to work by leveraging technology—including AI-enabled tools—to improve efficiency and enhance the employee experience. Contributing to People & Culture projects, wellness initiatives, continuous improvement efforts and other team priorities as we grow.
What we're looking for
1–2 years of experience in Human Resources, recruitment or a related administrative role. Experience processing payroll is a strong asset. Post-secondary education in Human Resources, Business, Communications or a related field. A genuine interest in building a career in Human Resources and learning every aspect of the profession. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to write clearly, professionally and confidently. A natural curiosity and strong systems aptitude. You enjoy learning new technology and aren't intimidated by new software. Experience with an HRIS is a strong asset. A proactive, can-do attitude. You ask questions, take initiative and enjoy figuring things out. The ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy and professionalism. Sound judgment and discretion when handling confidential information. A valid Class 5 Manitoba Driver's License and the ability to travel occasionally between Innovair Group locations.

We're committed to investing in our people and recognizing their contributions. In addition to a competitive compensation package, you'll enjoy benefits that support your health, financial wellbeing, and professional growth, including:
