Job Title: Community Inclusion Services Team Leader
Location: Oliver
Hours: 40 hours a week

Job Summary

The Team Leader (TL), Inclusion Services is responsible to oversee the human resource management of front-line Community Support workers in our Inclusion services program by assisting with screening of candidates, interviewing candidates, and supporting the onboarding and program specific orientation of new personnel. The TL for Inclusion Services is responsible for workforce management processes for new work and overseeing changes program operations. The Team Leader works with the Program Director in the development of services and oversite of the day-to-day operations of the program.

The position will provide supervision, development, and coaching to front-line Community Support Workers in collaboration with the Program Director.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Responsible for supporting the recruitment, hiring process, and onboarding process by conducting screening interviews, setting up and/or participating in the interview process, providing training and development, supervision, and performance management of Community Support Workers and General Service Workers.
  • Provides operational staffing oversight at Inclusion Services work locations including responding to feedback and arising issues through a collaborative and consultative solutions focused approach.
  • Ensures that frontline staff are trained on all individual plans (health care plans, Personal Support Plans, Behavioural Support Plans and Bi-Annual personal goal review) in accordance with funder and accreditation requirements, personal files, and record keeping related to Inclusion services.
  • Provides input to employer regarding union grievances and identifies potential labour management issues proactively.
  • Actively participates in maintaining Occupational Health and Safety standards at all worksites and participates in risk assessments as required.
  • Participates in the response to critical incidents and crisis, ensuring that they are resolved in a manner that respects all parties and mitigates risk for the organization
  • Provide input into health care plans with the goal of ensuring that everyone is supported to develop and maintain significant relationships in their lives, including families, friends, and acquaintances
  • Actively participates or leads to problem solving efforts and drives corrective and/or preventative actions to resolve issues.
  • Participates as a member of the OneSky leadership table attending to duties as delegated.
  • Participate in the manager on-call rotation as required and support staff scheduling.
  • Liaises with families, resources and community support providers to guide individuals to coordinate services.
  • Ensure that funding contract deliverables are adhered both from a financial oversight and a service oversight perspective.
  • In collaboration with the Program Director provides reporting to funder as delegated.
  • Other related duties as required

Qualifications

  • Degree in social sciences, human resource management or related fields and/or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Minimum 4 years’ experience in a management role
  • Experience with complex care and behavioural needs is an asset
  • Experience within a unionized setting is highly desirable
  • Experience within a non-profit organization and community living services is highly desirable
  • Intermediate computer software skills including MS Word, Excel, Outlook

Working condition

While the position requires most of the time onsite in Oliver coverage in Penticton periodically is required.
