About the opportunity We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Outbound Sales Account Executive to join our sales team, focusing on the Canadian Small and Medium-Sized Business (SMB) market. This is a "hunter" role dedicated to prospecting, identifying, and acquiring new customers for our payroll and HR software solutions. The ideal candidate is a self-starter who thrives on achieving outcomes, demonstrates resilience in developing territory opportunities, and is excited about shaping outbound sales strategy, tools, and content. This is a commission eligible role. What you'll get to do New Business Development Prospect and identify new sales opportunities within the Canadian SMB market, driving net-new customer acquisition. Conduct outbound prospecting activities including: Cold calling Email outreach Networking Build and maintain a strong sales pipeline. Use a consultative sales approach to: Understand customer needs Deliver tailored presentations Recommend payroll and HR software solutions that address business challenges. Territory Management Develop and execute a territory plan to maximize market potential and exceed sales targets. Identify high-potential market segments and verticals within the Canadian SMB space. Track, analyze, and report on territory performance and sales activity. Adjust territory strategy as needed to optimize results. Sales Strategy & Process Contribute to the development and refinement of outbound sales strategies. Partner with Field Marketing to improve prospect engagement and deal conversion. Collaborate with Sales Leadership and Marketing to enhance: Sales messaging Content Sales tools Provide market feedback on: Customer needs Competitive landscape Industry trends Support product development and go-to-market strategy through customer insights. Sales Execution Manage the full sales cycle from prospecting through negotiation and close. Deliver compelling product demonstrations and proposals. Negotiate contracts and successfully close new business. Maintain accurate CRM records, including: Sales activities Leads Opportunities Pipeline updates Skills and experience we value 3+ years of outbound sales experience, preferably in: SaaS Software Technology Experience selling payroll, HR, or related business solutions is preferred. Demonstrated success in a hunter/new business acquisition role, consistently meeting or exceeding sales targets. Experience selling into the Canadian SMB market with an understanding of its unique business needs and challenges. Strong prospecting and lead generation skills. Experience with: Cold calling Outbound email campaigns Networking Excellent negotiation and closing abilities. Strong objection-handling skills. Self-motivated, resilient, and results-oriented. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, target-driven sales environment. Strategic thinker with strong prioritization and territory planning skills. Experience using CRM platforms (e.g., Salesforce) and sales enablement tools. What would make you really stand out Experience selling payroll or HR software solutions. Knowledge of the Canadian business landscape, including relevant regulations and market trends. Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field.
