Our client located in Toronto is looking for a Bilingual Health, Safety and Attendance Specialist to add to their team.
What’s in it for you: Salary between $95,000 to $103,000 Comprehensive benefits Pension plan 4 weeks of vacation Remote opportunity, work in the office 1 day per week
In this role, you will be responsible for: Developing, planning, and coordinating health & safety and attendance programs Coordinating and managing health & safety incidents, absenteeism, disability cases, and WSIB/worker's compensation files (including managing objections and appeals) Investigating accidents, work refusals, and incidents, and implementing prevention, wellness, and intervention programs Ensuring health & safety policies, procedures, legislation, and collective agreements are being followed Drafting, implementing, and monitoring return to work and modified work programs Producing, analyzing, and sharing health & safety and attendance statistics Providing advisory support and guidance to managers regarding health, safety, and attendance management Coordinating and facilitating training and awareness activities Guiding and supporting the activities of the Joint Health and Safety Committee (JHSC) Collaborating with internal and external partners, including unions and external organizations Any other duties as required
The ideal candidate will have: Fluently bilingual in both French and English (written and spoken) 3-5 years of Health and Safety and/or Disability/Attendance Management experience University Degree in Human Resources, Industrial Relations, and/or Occupational Health and Safety Must have JHSC Part 1 Certification (CRSP® / PSAC® designation is considered a strong asset) Superior working knowledge of Canadian Occupational Health and Safety Regulations and disability/attendance legislation Strong analytical, organizational, and interpersonal communication skills, with a strict respect for confidentiality Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel (knowledge of Parklane and SAP is an asset) Experience working within a school board, educational environment, or unionized public sector setting is a strong asset Must have a reliable vehicle to travel to various work locations
