Position: Talent Acquisition Advisor Employment Type: 6-Month Contract Compensation Details: Talent Acquisition level 16: Salaries typically range from $74,290 to $99,062 annually, based on qualifications and experiences, plus a performance-based incentive. Location: Export Development Canada operates in a hybrid work environment, with a current requirement of two in-office days per week, increasing to three days per week in September 2026 (subject to change). Team Overview: We are seeking a dynamic and strategic Talent Acquisition Advisor to lead end-to-end recruitment for both permanent and contract positions across professional, technical, and leadership levels. Working closely with hiring managers and business leaders, you will develop a deep understanding of your assigned client groups and provide expert guidance on recruitment strategies, workforce planning, talent market trends, and best hiring practices. You will manage the full recruitment lifecycle, from sourcing and candidate assessment through to offer negotiation and onboarding, ensuring an exceptional experience for both candidates and hiring teams. What you will be doing: Efficiently recruit and select internal and external candidates. Collaborate with hiring managers to develop effective recruitment strategies, including cost-efficient and timely campaigns. Define job requirements, screen and select resumes, interview and evaluate candidates, conduct references and due diligence, and provide candidate selection and salary recommendations. Develop sourcing strategies and create external networks to proactively search for passive candidates. Build and maintain trusted relationships with client groups. Understand portfolio needs to anticipate and identify proactive talent acquisition solutions. Offer expert advice on recruitment matters, including interview questions, equitable hiring practices, and candidate evaluation. Recommend process improvements and efficiencies. Utilize databases (e.g., Taleo, LinkedIn) for searches and adhere to workflow processes. Maintain current data and metrics for reporting purposes. Provide HR Generalist support to the team What we are looking for: A university degree, preferably in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related discipline, combined with relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and relevant professional experience. Between 3 to 5 years of operational recruitment experience Proven interviewing skills, including experience with behavioural based interviewing techniques Strong relationship management skills and the ability to interact effectively with all levels of management Experience with Workable or other applicant tracking systems. Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook). Ability to manage conflicting priorities and a demanding workload. Customer service-oriented with highly developed interpersonal skills.
