Human Resources Manager

About the Opportunity Our client is a well-established custom cabinetry manufacturer with over 40 years of experience serving residential builders, retail customers, and multi-residential developments across Ontario. Known for its craftsmanship and commitment to quality, the company designs and manufactures premium custom cabinetry while continuing to invest in operational excellence and long-term growth.

As the organization expands, they are seeking an experienced Human Resources Manager to lead the HR function. Reporting directly to the President, this role is responsible for overseeing recruitment, employee engagement and retention, payroll administration, health and safety compliance, and HR operations. This is a hands-on leadership opportunity for someone who enjoys balancing strategic initiatives with day-to-day HR responsibilities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities Recruitment & Talent Acquisition Lead the full-cycle recruitment process, including sourcing, interviewing, hiring, and onboarding. Partner with department leaders to develop workforce planning and hiring strategies. Deliver a consistent and positive onboarding experience for new employees. Employee Relations & Engagement Develop and implement employee engagement, retention, and recognition programs. Conduct stay interviews and exit interviews to identify trends and improve retention. Act as a trusted advisor to employees and managers on performance management, workplace concerns, and conflict resolution. Support performance reviews and employee development initiatives. Payroll & Benefits Process payroll accurately and maintain payroll records. Resolve payroll discrepancies and coordinate payroll reporting with finance. Administer employee benefits programs and manage benefit-related inquiries. Health & Safety Lead workplace health and safety programs in compliance with Ontario legislation. Ensure compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA) and applicable regulations. Manage workplace incident investigations, WSIB claims, and corrective actions. Coordinate Joint Health & Safety Committee meetings, workplace inspections, and safety training. HR Operations & Compliance Maintain HR systems, employee records, and reporting processes. Develop, update, and communicate HR policies and the employee handbook. Manage employee relations matters, disciplinary actions, and terminations in accordance with employment legislation. Prepare HR metrics and reports for senior leadership. Support general administrative and office operations as required.

Qualifications Post-secondary education in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related discipline (or equivalent experience). Minimum of 3 years of progressive HR Generalist or HR Management experience. Strong knowledge of Ontario employment legislation, workplace health and safety regulations, and HR best practices. Experience processing payroll and administering employee benefits. Excellent interpersonal, communication, and conflict-resolution skills. Strong organizational and time management abilities with the capacity to manage multiple priorities. High level of professionalism, discretion, and integrity when handling confidential information.
