We are looking for a high impact Human Resources Generalist to become a key member of our Watts Canada HR team and a valued contributor within the broader Watts Americas HR organization. In this role, you will serve as a trusted advisor, partnering with leaders and cross functional teams to deliver value across the full employee lifecycle. You will play a pivotal role in shaping the employee experience through recruitment, employee relations, compensation and benefits, performance management, organizational development, training, engagement initiatives, and special HR projects. You will also take ownership of our HR systems, including Workday and UltiPro, ensuring seamless processes, strong data integrity, and insightful reporting that supports business decision making. The HRG will be responsible for serving as a trusted partner to the HR Manager Canada and Canadian employees across the organization. This role requires a team player who builds effective relationships, strong communication pathways and works closely with cross-functional partners to support business success. The HRG supports the full employee lifecycle, including recruitment, employee relations, benefits, compensation, performance management, organizational development, training, and engagement initiatives. Through actively fostering open communication and collaboration, they ensure HR programs are aligned, effective, and responsive to employee and business needs. This role also manages HRIS activities (Workday and UltiPro), ensuring accurate data management and integrated processes. As an active member of the Watts HR team, the HRG contributes to national HR initiatives while promoting a positive, inclusive, and continuously improving workplace culture. The HRG supports approximately 50 onsite employees, 25 of whom are union, and additional 100 employees across Canada. This position has no direct reports, and this is a backfill role with Watts team Canada. This position reports to the HR Manager, Canada who is remote to the site and sits in BC. This role is onsite 5 days a week and is based in Burlington Ontario. Primary Job Duties and Responsibilities Provides HR solutions to managers, supervisors and employees on HR related matters such as benefits, compensation, training, recruitment and employment, organizational design, change management, employee relations and organizational development. Supports the administration of RRSP’s, Health & EAP Benefits, WSIB, WCB and all Watts HR functions including talent development and planning. Partners with the HR Manager, Canada and site Operations leadership to support effective union relationships and ensure compliance with collective agreements. Serves as a key contact for union representatives and officials at the Burlington location. Serves as a support to Safety and responsible for WSIB claims and support. Conduct interviews, assess candidate qualifications, and participate in the selection process. Leads the onboarding process for new hires, ensuring partnership with Talent Acquisition, Safety and managers for seamless integration. Supports new employees by working with leaders to create immersion plans, drafting new hire announcements, and completing other new hire tasks. Maintains a high level of visibility, accessibility, and interaction Generate HR reports and analytics such as headcount reports, performance reports and more. Coach and counseling employees, front line leaders and managers on Watts policies and Employment Standards expectations related to the function of the business. Utilize an empathetic approach to understanding employee concerns, answer questions and help employees navigate through organizational change. Supports updating of Canadian policies, procedure and process documents Conduct investigations into employee complaints, providing recommendations for resolution. Partner with the HR Manager Canada as appropriate for all ethics related issues. Partner with the Employee Spirit Committees and Watts Cares leaders to coordinate various employee engagement and community activities to support a collaborative and inclusive environment. Liaise with other members of the Watts HR team to ensure consistent administration of policies and practices while adhering and ensuring compliance with all federal, provincial and local employment laws and regulations. The HRG will be a catalyst for cultural advancement of the organization by consistently modeling a positive attitude, cooperative team spirit, and high integrity. Partners with HR manager Canada and Operations site leadership to ensure effective union relations and compliance with union contract. Assume responsibility for other projects and duties as assigned by the Human Resources Manager Canada or Company management. Responsibility directly tied to Watts Value Integrity, Accountability, Continuous Improvement and Transparency Travel Requirements: Up to 15% travel to Vernon BC, Calgary Alberta and the US. Must have a valid passport. Required Qualifications 3+ years of progressive HR experience with a minimum of 1+ years of experience in a manufacturing, industrial, distribution center or similar environment. CHRP designation. Demonstrated experience working effectively within unionized environments, including building collaborative relationships and supporting collective agreement processes. Maintains highest level of integrity, ethics and confidentiality, flexibility and adaptability to changing priorities and projects Strong collaboration skills and ability to project manage within a larger Americas HR organization Understanding of and adherence to applicable laws, codes, policies, regulations, and safety practices and procedures Demonstrated experience working with WSIB claim management. Outstanding communication skills Must successfully establish employment eligibility and satisfactorily complete background checks, including a national criminal record check and required pre-employment testing as a condition of employment. Working Conditions: While performing the job duties, you will be working on-site at a hybrid office/distribution center and will perform the majority of your duties in an office environment. You will be required to be present on the warehouse floor and will be required to wear the appropriate personal protective equipment. You will be required to work in the office at the Burlington location (Monday – Friday). Your scheduled work hours will be communicated to you by your manager. When travelling you will be present on manufacturing floors, distribution centers and office locations. Physical Requirements: Specific physical abilities required for this position include, but are not limited to: Ability to remain seated at a desk or workstation for extended periods. Ability to perform repetitive tasks like typing on a keyboard or using a mouse for extended periods. Ability to physically move around the office, organize or transport files, packages, or other office-related materials. Ability to read documents, use a computer, and perform data entry tasks. Ability to communicate clearly with management and coworkers, particularly in meetings or phone calls. Ability to operate standard office equipment such as computers, printers, phones, and copiers. Ability to occasionally lift and carry light objects, such as office supplies, documents, or small equipment. Ability to wear personal protective equipment, which may include, but is not limited to, safety shoes, hearing protection, and safety glasses. Pay Range: The expected salary range for this position is $70,000-$82,000 annually. Actual compensation will be dependent upon individual skills, experience, qualifications, and applicable law.
