POSITION SUMMARY: The Human Resource Partner will apply business knowledge and Human Resources expertise to provide a broad range of HR advice and implementation support. This individual will help to build the capability and success of the organization by providing guidance on recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, performance management, terminations, HR programs and best practices while developing and maintaining positive working relationships with managers.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES: Serve as the primary point of contact for human resources related matters Facilitate the day-to-day operations of HR requirements through effective thinking, communication and building relationships Maintain compliance with Canadian laws and employee legislation requirements to ensure compliance and best practices are being maintained by reviewing, tracking and documenting mandatory and non-mandatory policies, training and work assessments Advise and train managers and employees on the interpretation of the human resources policies, compensation, retirement and benefit programs Partner with Senior Leadership Team to align people strategies with overall business strategies Process biweekly payroll for all employees, ensure compliance with provincial and federal payroll standards. Recruit and facilitate the hiring of qualified job applications for open positions; collaborate with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings Conduct investigations in response to a range of employee concerns, and communicate regularly regarding pending investigations Facilitate the onboarding and offboarding process for all employees Administrate employee benefit and retirement programs Maintain human resource data bases, computer software systems and manual filing systems Provide monthly reporting on Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) and Financial Month End Reporting Administer WSIB processes, including completing accident reports, submitting WSIB forms, and liaising with managers and third-party disability managers to support early and safe return to work prospects Actively lead and manage the occupational health and safety programs, organizing monthly health and safety walkthroughs, and quarterly meetings Plan and organize staff events and recreational activities. Performs other duties as assigned POSITION REQUIREMENTS: Education/Experience: At least two (2) years of experience in an HR role CHRP designation or working towards (an asset) Manufacturing experience preferred Competencies: Strong knowledge of all HR functional areas and practices including applicable laws, regulations, and industry best practices. Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills. Ability to handle confidential information with discretion, and to build trust with employees at all levels. Strong influential and leadership skills in managing people; including the ability to communicate effectively to support the team. Strong attention to detail, with excellent problem solving abilities, and time management skills Strong commitment to team work and continuous improvement Strong work ethic and sense of urgency for completing assigned work with quality and productivity Strong commitment to ownership of quality of work produced daily Proficient personal computer skills including Microsoft Office Ability to maintain the highest level of confidentiality
