About the role

The Human Resources Assistant, is responsible for providing support in various Human Resource functions. The Human Resources Assistant provides advice and assistance to Management and Employees. Major Duties and Responsibilities: Provide clerical and administrative support to the Human Resources Staff and Management Promptly complete Meeting Minutes for all relevant discussions Promptly handle employee requests, or forward to the appropriate designate for follow up Responsible for assisting in maintaining staffing operations for the organization Ensure spreadsheets and internal tracking systems are up-to-date and easily accessible Fill in for Staffing, including responding to telephone and email communications, as needed Fill in for the Human Resources Assistant-1, as neededEnsure Staff Develops the Skills and Capabilities: Prepare Employees for assignments by establishing, conducting and scheduling orientation and training programs Ensure that accurate Job Descriptions are in place, as needed Provide advice and assistance in creating Job Descriptions, as needed Provide assistance in developing human resources activitiesMonitor Staff Performance: Maintain full cycle employee records, including training certificates and training tracking document(s) Process documentation and prepare reports relating to personnel activities Any other job duties as assigned Qualifications: Working toward Certification in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field required. 1 to 2 years experience in Administrative Assistant position required Basic knowledge of Saskatchewan Employment Standards Excellent organizational skills Strong written and verbal communication Works well under pressure, in a fast-paced environment, and meets tight deadlines Meticulous attention to detail Self-starter and ability to accurately follow instructions is essential Knowledge and understanding of the history of Indigenous peoples.
