About the role

Engagement: Contract preferred; full-time candidates may also be considered Initial Term: 8-9 months, with potential extension based on project needs Target Start: September 2026 (After Labour Day) Working Hours: Primarily Eastern Time core business hours, with flexibility for client and offshore-team collaboration

About the Role Millenilink is hiring on behalf of our enterprise consulting client seeking a hands-on experienced Oracle HCM Payroll Subject Matter Expert with a background in management consulting. The emphasis is that this is a hands-on, client-facing role for a consultant who can translate business requirements into practical Oracle configuration, contribute to solution design, and guide clients toward sound decisions and best practices. The successful candidate will work closely with managers, technical teams, and client stakeholders across Oracle HCM transformation engagements.

Key Responsibilities Lead requirements gathering, process review, solution design, configuration, testing, and deployment activities for Oracle HCM Payroll. Configure Oracle Payroll to align with Canadian payroll requirements and client-specific business processes. Translate business needs into scalable functional solutions rather than simply accepting requirements as presented. Provide practical recommendations based on Oracle leading practices, implementation experience, and cross-functional impact. Work hands-on in the system while maintaining a strong consulting and advisory presence with client stakeholders. Prepare clear functional and technical specifications for reports, integrations, and related technical development. Partner with technical teams, including offshore delivery resources, to ensure specifications are understood and implemented correctly. Assess downstream reporting requirements and ensure payroll information can be delivered accurately to the appropriate stakeholders. Collaborate with Core HR and adjacent HCM workstreams to identify dependencies, data impacts, and cross-module considerations. Build trusted client relationships, facilitate decisions, and communicate risks, options, and recommendations clearly.

Required Qualifications Strong hands-on experience implementing and configuring Oracle HCM Payroll. Demonstrated experience with Canadian payroll environments and requirements. Experience across the implementation lifecycle, including requirements gathering, solution design, configuration, testing, and deployment. Ability to connect business requirements to Oracle configuration and explain the rationale behind recommended solutions. Experience developing functional specifications for reporting, integrations, or technical build activities. Demonstrated management consulting experience in a client-facing Oracle HCM environment, including workshop facilitation, stakeholder communication, and decision-making. Experience completing one to two full-lifecycle Oracle HCM Payroll implementations in a management consulting, professional services, or systems integration environment. Ability to work independently at the Senior Consultant level while escalating cross-stream or architectural issues to project leadership.

Preferred Qualifications Experience with Oracle Core HR; full end-to-end Core HR configuration is not required, but practical cross-module experience is strongly preferred. Experience delivering Oracle Payroll implementations for Canadian government or public-sector clients is an asset; experience doing so in a management consulting capacity is especially valuable. Familiarity with robust payroll reporting requirements and delivering accurate information to internal and external stakeholders. Experience working with distributed or offshore technical teams. Exposure to unionized environments, collective agreements, or complex enterprise payroll structures.
