The Role
Our client is seeking an experienced Payroll Specialist to join their team in a high-volume, fast-paced environment. Reporting to the Payroll & Benefits Team Lead, this position is responsible for the accurate, timely, and confidential processing of payroll across multiple entities and provinces.

Responsibilities
Process high-volume bi-weekly and semi-monthly payroll across multiple provinces. Ensure payroll transactions are processed accurately and in accordance with company policies, employment standards, and collective agreements. Prepare and process payroll deductions, remittances, and reporting requirements. Verify payroll data and conduct payroll audits to ensure accuracy and compliance. Prepare payroll reports, reconciliations, and special payroll payments as required. Administer Records of Employment (ROEs) and other payroll documentation. Review and reconcile employee benefit deductions and related reporting. Prepare remittances for unions, CRA, WCB, pension plans, and other statutory requirements. Respond to payroll inquiries and provide support to operational teams regarding payroll-related matters. Maintain confidentiality and ensure compliance with all payroll legislation and internal policies.
Requirements
Proven experience processing high-volume payroll within a unionized environment. Strong understanding of payroll legislation, employment standards, statutory remittances, and collective agreement administration. Experience interpreting and applying collective agreements in a payroll capacity. Proficiency with ADP Workforce Now (WFN); experience with Workforce Manager is considered an asset. Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills. Strong attention to detail and a commitment to payroll accuracy. Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and time management skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Professional, discreet, and capable of handling highly confidential information. Experience with benefits administration and payroll reconciliations is considered an asset.
