PROFILE

The Bilingual Talent Acquisition Specialist will oversee the full-cycle recruitment process for business services firm positions, including candidate sourcing, building a strong talent pipeline, conducting interviews, and recommending and onboarding the most qualified candidates, while supporting recruitment efforts across Western Canada and providing support to our bilingual Eastern Canada market. This hybrid role may be based in either Calgary or Vancouver. They will also develop and implement equitable, standardized recruitment practices that incorporate skills assessments, innovative strategies, and streamlined processes, and will build and maintain a robust talent pipeline by attracting, sourcing, and hiring diverse candidates across all markets to effectively meet evolving business needs.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Accountable for the full cycle recruitment process for firm business services roles, including posting and advertising roles, sourcing, screening, and interviewing candidates, conducting skills assessments, managing negotiations, conducting employment verifications and preparing offer letters. 
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with hiring managers to establish the departmental business needs and the skills and requirements necessary for candidates to be successful in the role.
  • Provide an exceptional candidate experience through obtaining ongoing candidate feedback and recommending recruitment process improvements as required.
  • Support regional P&C teams during periods of high recruitment activity.
  • Prepare recruitment reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data and trends.
  • Remain current on market trends within our regions and provide market intelligence to inform and influence best practices on attracting and hiring talent.
  • Establish and maintain on-going connections through online networks and maintain an up to date professional presence on social media platforms. 
  • Participate in P&C related special projects and other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bilingualism (French/English) is required.
  • 5+ years’ experience leading full cycle recruitment processes preferably within a law firm, professional services environment or recruitment agency.
  • College Diploma or University Degree in Human Resources Management.
  • Solid understanding and knowledge of recruitment and selection best practices and employment legislation; advanced interviewing skills and a proven track record of successful hires. 
  • Proven ability to build effective relationships and display a positive enthusiastic energy.
  • Provide pro-active and responsive solutions to departmental hiring needs. 
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail and ability to multi-task.
  • Proven experience with applicant tracking systems, LinkedIn Recruiter, job board platforms, digital marketing/social media platforms.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite; experience with ADP Workforce Now an asset.

The starting range for this role is $68,000 to $88,000. Starting salary will be determined based on an applicant’s individual skills, competencies and unique qualifications. Gowling WLG employees have the potential to exceed this range based on tenure and performance. 

This position is currently vacant and is open to both internal and external candidates. Gowling WLG is recruiting for this role to support ongoing firm needs and team operations.
