Role Description The Payroll Assistant is a full-time, on-site role based in North York, ON. This position is responsible for supporting end-to-end payroll processes, including preparing and entering payroll data, reviewing timesheets, and assisting with pay runs for staff and clinicians. Day-to-day tasks include verifying employee information, tracking hours, handling payroll adjustments, and helping resolve payroll-related inquiries in a timely, professional manner. The Payroll Assistant will assist in maintaining accurate payroll records, coordinating with accounting and HR, and supporting compliance with applicable payroll regulations and internal policies. The role also involves generating basic payroll reports, monitoring deadlines, and contributing to continuous improvements in payroll procedures. Qualifications Experience in Payroll Services and Payroll Administration, with the ability to process regular pay cycles accurately. Knowledge of Payroll Management and Payroll Taxes, including statutory deductions and regulatory requirements. Foundational Accounting skills to reconcile payroll data and support financial record-keeping. Strong attention to detail, numerical accuracy, and organization in handling confidential payroll information. Proficiency with payroll software and MS Office tools (especially Excel), and the ability to learn new systems quickly. Effective communication skills and the ability to work cooperatively with colleagues and stakeholders on-site. Prior experience in a payroll or accounting support role is preferred; post-secondary education in accounting, finance, or business is an asset.
