Location: Edmonton, Alberta Full-Time | In-Office Join the Team at Alberta Pork Alberta Pork is a self-sustaining, private, not-for-profit organization representing the interests of Alberta's registered pork producers. Governed by an eight-member, producer-elected Board of Directors, we advocate for producers and work collaboratively with government, industry partners, consumers, and the media to support a strong and sustainable pork industry.
We are looking for a highly organized, professional, and proactive Executive Assistant to join our team. This is an excellent opportunity for a professional who enjoys variety, thrives in a collaborative environment, and takes pride in supporting executive leadership and organizational success. About the Role Reporting to the Executive Director, the Executive Assistant provides confidential executive support to the Executive Director, Board of Directors, Board Committees, and Management Team. The position also plays a key role in governance administration, human resources support, overseeing office operations, and organizational projects.
As the primary point of contact for many internal and external stakeholders, the successful candidate will be an effective communicator, exercise sound judgment, and maintain the highest level of professionalism and confidentiality. What You'll Do Provide executive support to the Executive Director, Board of Directors, Board Committees, and Management Team. Coordinate meetings, travel arrangements, accommodations, and expense submissions for directors and staff, as required. Develop and maintain administrative procedures that support effective governance and executive operations. Maintain official corporate records, governance documents, policies, and organizational data with accuracy and confidentiality. Collaborate with the Traceability team to oversee levy collection processes, ensuring timely collection and accurate data entry. Support employee onboarding and offboarding, including documentation, equipment, and system access. Oversee day-to-day office operations, ensuring the office is well maintained and equipment is functioning efficiently. Support Executive Director and financial staff with administrative and office financial functions. Prepare accounts payable and accounts receivable documentation for processing by the organization's bookkeeper. Support human resources administration. Assist with Alberta Pork meetings, projects, programs, and events as directed by the Executive Director. Perform other related duties as assigned.
What We're Looking For You are organized, dependable, adaptable, and enjoy working in a team-oriented environment. You can manage multiple priorities while maintaining attention to detail and confidentiality. Qualifications include: Formal administrative training, or an equivalent combination of education and related experience. Three or more years of administrative experience is considered an asset. Knowledge of general office administration and administrative procedures. Excellent organizational, interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills. Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities. Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Experience with accounts payable, accounts receivable, or basic bookkeeping processes is considered an asset. Experience supporting executives, Boards of Directors, governance processes, human resources, or financial administration is considered an asset. Knowledge of or experience in the agriculture industry is considered an asset. Working at Alberta Pork This is a full-time, in-office position based in Edmonton, Alberta. While regular business hours apply, flexibility to work additional hours may be required during Board meetings, organizational events, and other peak periods throughout the year.
