Human Resources Manager
Job Summary The Human Resources Generalist runs day-to-day HR operations within a high-volume automotive manufacturing facility. This role focuses heavily on full-cycle payroll administration using ADP Workforce Now, managing hourly and salaried employee tracking. This individual acts as the primary point of contact for employee relations, plant safety compliance, shifts, and timecard tracking to support continuous production cycles.
Key Responsibilities
Payroll & Timekeeping (ADP Workforce Now) Process end-to-end payroll for hourly, salaried, and temporary workers. Manage time and attendance within ADP to audit missing punches. Reconcile agency invoices for temporary staffing plant resources weekly. Maintain HRIS database integrity by updating personal data, compensation changes, and tax data.
Employee Relations & Floor Support Serve as floor liaison to resolve issues for plant and assembly line personnel. Interpret shop-floor policies and procedures for leadership, managers, and staff. Conduct internal investigations regarding employee grievances or policy violations. Administer disciplinary actions and performance improvement plans fairly.
Safety & Compliance Enforce OSHA safety regulations alongside operations managers. Manage Workers’ Compensation claims and compile safety incident data. Coordinate leaves of absence including FMLA, short-term disability, and medical accommodations. Audit HR files regularly to maintain strict state, federal, and ISO manufacturing compliance.
Talent Acquisition & Onboarding Partner with plant supervisors to handle high-volume staffing needs. Facilitate weekly new-hire orientation and plant safety training. Coordinate physical access credentials and safety gear distribution for new staff. Conduct exit interviews to track and analyze floor turnover trends.
Qualifications & Skills
Required Experience Education: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or related discipline. Experience: 3+ years of progressive HR experience in a manufacturing plant environment. Systems: Minimum 2 years of deep ADP Workforce Now hands-on administration. Strong interpersonal and communication skills
