About The Role

We are currently seeking a dedicated Human Resources Business Partner to join our HR team. This role offers a hybrid work environment, providing the flexibility to work remotely and from our Waterloo corporate office within Ontario. The position involves infrequent travel to various offices across the province. Reporting directly to the Regional Human Resource Manager, the HR Business Partner will serve as the primary contact for all people-related matters within an assigned client group. The role is pivotal in aligning HR strategies with organizational goals, supporting leaders at all levels to foster a positive and productive work environment. The successful candidate will bring strong HR generalist experience, sound judgment, and excellent interpersonal skills, along with a thorough understanding of employment legislation and employment law compliance.

Qualifications

University or College degree/diploma in Human Resources Management or a related field is required. CHRP/CHRL designation is preferred. 3-5 years of experience across multiple human resource disciplines is required. Experience working in large, multi-site unionized environments is an asset. Previous experience in the healthcare or homecare sector is advantageous. High level of personal integrity and a commitment to ethical practices. Strong customer service orientation with a sense of urgency. Exceptional leadership, influencing, relationship-building, and team development skills. Ability to work effectively under pressure, managing multiple priorities with strong project management capabilities. Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Effective communicator, tactful and professional in interactions at all organizational levels. Willingness to learn, adapt, and embrace new ideas and methodologies. Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and email communication. Ability to pass a clear background check.

Responsibilities

Provide comprehensive HR support and coaching to designated client groups, covering areas such as employee relations, labour relations, recruitment, performance management, recognition, engagement, remuneration, learning and development, and succession planning. Act as a strategic advisor to leaders, ensuring organizational structures, processes, and competencies are aligned with business objectives to deliver both short-term and long-term results. Support employees within the client group by managing employee relations issues with fairness, transparency, and compliance with applicable legislation and collective agreements. Assist with the interpretation, administration, and negotiation of collective bargaining agreements, and lead grievance resolution, mediation, and investigations as needed. Analyze HR data to identify trends, challenges, and opportunities, providing insights to business leaders for informed decision-making. Collaborate with the Senior Director of HR on various people-related projects and initiatives.
