The Opportunity As a Case Work Excellence Specialist, you'll play a pivotal leadership role in elevating the quality and consistency of claims management across the organization. This is an ideal opportunity for an experienced case management professional who is passionate about coaching others, developing expertise in complex claims, and driving best practices in disability management and return-to-work outcomes. Particularly valuable in this role is experience supporting psychological injury claims, mental health-related disabilities, trauma-informed approaches, and complex return-to-work planning. You will partner closely with operational leaders and frontline case workers to strengthen decision-making, enhance claim outcomes, and build confidence in navigating challenging and sensitive cases.

What You'll Do

Lead Through Coaching & Mentorship Provide day-to-day coaching and performance support to case workers managing complex claims. Help employees strengthen their expertise in legislation, policy application, decision-making, return-to-work planning, and client service. Deliver meaningful coaching conversations that foster growth, accountability, and professional confidence. Support employees in achieving and exceeding performance expectations through individualized development plans. Advance Excellence in Complex Claims Management Share subject matter expertise related to disability management, return-to-work practices, and specialized claim strategies. Support best practices in the management of psychological injury, mental health conditions, long-duration claims, and other complex cases. Identify opportunities to improve quality, consistency, and service outcomes across claims teams. Promote evidence-based and worker-centered approaches to recovery and return to work. Build Capability Across the Organization Design, develop, deliver, and evaluate learning programs and training initiatives. Contribute to onboarding, skill development, and continuous learning strategies. Collaborate with leaders and stakeholders to drive organizational improvement and operational excellence. Foster a culture of continuous feedback, learning, and professional growth.

What You Bring You are an experienced claims or disability management professional who thrives on helping others succeed and excels in navigating complex, often sensitive, casework situations.

Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in a related field such as Social Sciences, Psychology, Health Management, Business, Education, Occupational Health, Disability Management, or a related discipline. Minimum 5 years of experience in a case management environment. Minimum 3 years of experience coaching, mentoring, or developing others to improve performance and decision-making OR 5 years of experience designing and developing curriculum for adult learners. Minimum 3 years of experience operating at a senior decision-making level. Demonstrated ability to build strong working relationships across teams and departments.

Assets That Will Help You Succeed Experience managing or supporting psychological injury claims, mental health disabilities, PTSD, occupational stress injuries, or other complex claims. Knowledge of trauma-informed practices and recovery-oriented approaches. Experience in disability management, vocational rehabilitation, return-to-work planning, or occupational health. Strong facilitation, coaching, and adult learning skills. A passion for quality improvement and developing others.

Travel Requirements This role supports teams located in both Halifax and Sydney, Nova Scotia. Frequent travel between locations, including occasional overnight stays, is required.
