About The Role: The Employee Engagement & Communications Specialist reports to the Human Resources Business Partner and supports Corporate Services, including Human Resources, IT, and Legal. This role strengthens employee engagement and ensures employees receive clear, timely, and consistent information across Draganfly’s operations. The Specialist gathers updates from Corporate Services stakeholders and translates HR, IT, legal, policy, systems, and organizational information into accessible, engaging employee communications. This role is well suited to a creative, highly organized communicator who builds strong cross-functional relationships and thrives in a fast-paced, distributed work environment.

This is a remote role, but the successful candidate will need to be willing to travel.

Key Responsibilities: Employee Engagement Design, plan, and run employee engagement initiatives, recognition programs, and company events, including virtual and in-person activities and milestone celebrations. Create and own the company-wide engagement calendar and help foster an inclusive, positive culture across a distributed workforce. Support a strong onboarding and new-hire experience in partnership with the HR & IT teams. Develop and administer engagement and pulse surveys, analyze results, and recommend actions to leadership.

Internal Communications Assist the Executive Chief of Staff in managing the internal communications calendar and channels, including company newsletters, Microsoft Teams announcements, and the SharePoint intranet. Support the Executive Chief of Staff by drafting, editing, and distributing company-wide announcements, newsletters, and leadership messages that are clear, consistent, on-brand, and accessible across time zones. Translate technical, legal, and HR content into plain, engaging language for all employees. Assist the Executive Chief of Staff with change communications for new systems, policies, programs, and organizational updates.

Cross-Functional Coordination – Corporate Services Act as the communications liaison for the HR, IT, and Legal teams — gathering vital updates (benefits and policy changes, system changes and outages, compliance and legal notices) and packaging them into timely employee communications. Maintain a predictable communication cadence so employees receive important information on time and through the right channels. Build strong working relationships across Corporate Services to anticipate communication needs before they become urgent.

Content, Channels & Measurement Maintain and update the Corporate Services SharePoint portal and intranet content and manage distribution lists and communication channels. Create supporting content such as FAQs, guides, slide decks, and simple visuals. Track engagement and communication metrics (participation, open rates, sentiment) and use feedback to continuously improve. Support special projects and other duties as assigned to support the Corporate Services team.

Professional and discreet when handling sensitive employee, legal, compensation, or company information. Creative and proactive, with fresh ideas for employee engagement, internal communications, recognition, and culture-building initiatives. Highly organized and able to manage communication calendars, engagement initiatives, deadlines, and multiple stakeholders across a distributed team. Detail-oriented and committed to producing accurate, polished, and error-free communications before they reach employees. Adaptable and comfortable working in a small, fast-moving company where priorities can shift, roles may flex, and initiative matters.

Qualifications: Diploma or degree in Communications, Human Resources, Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field. 2–4 years of experience in internal communications, employee engagement, HR, or a related role. Excellent writing and editing skills, with the ability to translate complex HR, IT, and legal content into clear, engaging messages. Strong proficiency in Microsoft 365 (Outlook, Teams, SharePoint, PowerPoint); familiarity with survey and design tools (e.g., Microsoft Forms, Canva) is an asset. Experience supporting distributed or cross-border (Canada/U.S.) teams is an asset. Legally eligible to work in Canada.

Compensation: Competitive salary: $62,000 - $80,000 CAD Equity / Stock Options: Participation in the company’s stock option plan, providing long‑term ownership and alignment with company growth.
