Position Information

The Ottawa Hospital has an exciting opportunity! If you are a results-oriented and client-service focused Human Resources professional, this may be the job for you!

The Labour and Employee Relations Analyst is a key member of the Human Resources team who will support the Labour Relations team on matters related to conflict resolution, negotiation and relationship building skills to collaborate with key leadership and union partners on a number of labour and employee relations initiatives and processes.

Rotation/Shifts

Days, 8 hour shifts.

What You Will Bring

Three (3) year college diploma in Human Resources or related field; Minimum of three (3) years of experience working in a complex, multi-union, high volume Human Resources environment; Knowledge of Hospital policies, collective agreements, employment-related legislation (Labour Relations Act, Pay Equity Act, Human Rights Code, Occupational Health and Safety Act, Workplace Safety and Insurance Act, Employment Standards Act, Public Hospitals Act, etc.); Knowledge of Labour Relations, including collective bargaining theory and conflict resolution; Strong analytical abilities, research skills, problem-solving skills, time-management skills and project management skills; Ability to establish priorities and work with minimal supervision; Ability to work effectively in team situations, to multi-task and cope with stressful situations; Good judgement and tact; Superior written and oral communication skills; Strong computer skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, HRIS).

You will stand out with:

Bachelor degree in Human Resources or related field. Proficiency in English and French oral expression (level 4 - advanced) and comprehension (level 4 - advanced).

The Ottawa Hospital uses a 5-level language proficiency scale to define the required level of language skills in English and in French for positions at the Hospital, and to evaluate job candidate language skills. Language proficiency requirements are based on the nature of the position and the level of interaction with French and English-speaking clients.
