Our client, a well-established and respected company in its industry, is seeking a Planning and Transportation Supervisor to oversee daily transportation operations and support a high-performing dispatch team. Reporting to management, the selected candidate will play a strategic role in ensuring operational efficiency, customer satisfaction, and resource optimization.

Responsibilities:

-       Supervise, motivate, and support the planning and dispatch team in achieving operational objectives.

-       Organize the work of employees under your supervision and ensure effective management of schedules, payroll, absenteeism, and replacement needs.

-       Collaborate with Human Resources on recruitment processes, disciplinary matters, and the administration of employee files, including those related to CNESST claims.

-       Ensure compliance with the collective agreement, internal policies, and occupational health and safety regulations.

-       Establish performance indicators, evaluate team members, and support their professional development.

-       Work closely with the sales and customer service teams to ensure an outstanding customer experience.

-       Anticipate operational challenges, respond quickly to unexpected situations, and keep customers informed of progress on their files.

-       Participate in the analysis of new delivery projects and contribute to cost assessments for future business opportunities.

-       Develop and maintain relationships with transportation providers, including negotiating rate agreements.

-       Maximize the use of available equipment and resources to optimize costs and productivity.

-       Plan transportation needs, assign routes, and coordinate driver activities based on volumes and priorities.

-       Adjust assignments and equipment to minimize downtime and ensure continuity of operations.

-       Coordinate special deliveries and pickups with various suppliers.

-       Ensure the accuracy of loading, unloading, and documentation related to shipments and receiving activities.

-       Produce management reports and recommend improvements aimed at increasing operational efficiency.

-       Assess workforce requirements based on seasonal fluctuations and activity volumes.

-       Perform any other related duties.

Requirements:

-       College diploma in transportation, logistics, management, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

-       8 to 12 years of experience in a similar role, including supervisory experience in a unionized environment.

-       Excellent understanding of transportation operations and dispatch-related challenges.

-       Experience in the food industry will be considered a strong asset.

-       Strong knowledge of the Quebec territory and its logistical realities.

-       Comfortable using technology and transportation management systems.

-       Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.

-       Good knowledge of regulations governing provincial and interprovincial transportation.

-       Be bilingual (intermediate English), both spoken and written, as the role requires communicating with customers and employees in English approximately 10% of the time

Salary: $80,000 to $85,000 per year

Schedule: Day shift, Monday to Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

Status: Permanent
