Job details

Are you an experienced HR leader looking for the opportunity to shape the people strategy of a rapidly growing North American business? Xtrava Group are partnering with a global mining technology business to appoint its Head of People & Culture for North America. The North American business currently employs around 80 people across Canada and the US and is growing rapidly. With record order intake this past year, the expectation is that the region could approximately double in size over the next three years. This growth creates an excellent opportunity for an HR leader who wants to build, rather than simply maintain, an established function. Reporting to the SVP of People & Culture in Europe and working closely with the VP North America as a member of the regional leadership team, you will have significant autonomy to shape and deliver the people strategy across Canada and the US. You will also have the opportunity to strengthen and build the regional HR team as the business grows. Your mandate will include: Building the organisational and people capability required to support continued growth across North America. Partnering with the regional leadership team to translate the business strategy into clear people priorities. Developing the regional HR function and building additional capability within the team. Strengthening recruitment and workforce planning as the organisation expands. Developing succession plans and internal talent pipelines for critical leadership and specialist roles. Supporting leadership development, performance and organisational effectiveness. Helping the business manage continued change as it introduces new systems, processes and ways of working. Creating a scalable people framework that can support a significantly larger North American organisation. This isn't a role for someone who wants to operate at arm's length. The organisation is deliberately lean, so you will need to be comfortable moving between strategy and execution: advising senior leaders one day and personally driving key HR priorities the next. The brief from the leadership team is clear: they want someone who is strategically capable, but also a genuine doer. We are interested in HR leaders from mining, industrial equipment, manufacturing, engineering or industrial services environments who understand the demands of supporting both professional and operational workforces. Direct mining experience would be advantageous, but isn't essential. For the right person, this is an opportunity to join a business at an important point in its North American growth: working directly with senior regional and global leadership, shaping strategy, building a team and having a visible impact on how the organisation develops over the coming years. Please apply for a confidential discussion over the position.
