Video recruiting pays off for P. Diddy

It's official—P. Diddy has found the perfect assistant. We ran an article about this last August, when the famous U.S. rapper published an unusual job ad on the YouTube site to recruit a personal assistant. The method worked out, with tons of video applications pouring in over the past three months.

The winning applicant was revealed during the Oprah Winfrey show on November 6, putting an end to the suspense. The three finalists were in attendance, and P. Diddy officially selected young American Heather Thompson as his new assistant. Explaining his decision, Diddy said, "It was just a passion, it was the way she articulated herself. I think she understood what the job entailed. She had a background that was stellar. It was just the way she came across."

In the ad, P. Diddy asked, "Why should you be my personal assistant? What better job than to have me scream at you, go crazy, keep you up long hours, have you sleep-deprived? If this job interests you, upload your video interview saying what makes you my perfect assistant."

Let's all wish Heather good luck. . .
