We’re looking for a Human Resources Specialist to join our HR team and play a key role in supporting our people and leaders across the Credit Union. This is an opportunity for an HR professional who enjoys variety, likes to build relationships, and wants to have a meaningful impact across the employee experience. With a primary focus on recruitment and talent acquisition, you’ll have the opportunity to lead recruitment from beginning to end while also working closely with leaders on employee relations, performance management, HR policies, programs and other HR initiatives. You’ll be a trusted HR resource who brings practical advice, sound judgment and a people-first approach to the work. What You’ll Do: Recruitment & Talent Acquisition Lead end-to-end recruitment for a variety of positions, including sourcing, screening, interviewing, reference checks and offers. Partner with hiring leaders and provide guidance on recruitment, interviewing and candidate selection. Build and maintain internal and external talent pipelines. Develop engaging job postings and identify opportunities to improve the candidate experience. Employee Relations & Performance Provide practical HR guidance to leaders on employee relations, performance, attendance and workplace concerns. Support leaders with performance capability plans, including expectations, documentation and follow-up. Assist leaders in addressing performance and conduct concerns in a fair, consistent and timely manner. Maintain appropriate documentation and confidentiality. HR Programs & Initiatives Assist with the development, review and communication of HR policies, programs and resources. Monitor employment legislation and HR best practices and identify opportunities for improvement. Participate in HR projects and initiatives that support the employee experience and business needs. What You Bring: A Bachelor’s degree or certificate in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Business, Education or a related field. Minimum four years of recent, related HR experience, including recruitment and talent acquisition. Experience providing HR guidance to leaders, particularly in employee relations and performance management. Strong interpersonal, communication and relationship-building skills. Excellent organization, time management and attention to detail. Sound judgment, discretion and the ability to handle confidential information. Ability to take initiative, work independently and manage multiple priorities. Strong Microsoft Office skills and experience with HRIS and applicant tracking systems. Commitment to ongoing professional development and staying current with HR legislation, trends and best practices. Ability to travel to PCU’s 10 branches across PEI, as needed.
