Premier Meat is a leading meat portioning production facility, located in Vaudreuil, Quebec. Premier Meat's products are distributed all across Canada to supermarkets, restaurants, hospitals and old age homes. Operated by 3 sequential generations of leaders since 1918, the family-run business has evolved with time while maintaining its quality standards and commitment to satisfy its customers. In 2016, the company was purchased by Premium Brands Holding Corporation, a leading Canadian company in the food industry.

To support our growth and to maintain a very high-quality level of relations with our staff, we are looking for a Coordinator, Payroll and Human Resources who will work with the management team to apply best practices in payroll and human resources. The main tasks of our Coordinator, Payroll and Human Resources are the following:

Payroll, Administration & Labor Relations

  • Process payroll every 2 weeks for 80+ employees (ADP's Pay at Work and employees in Canada only)
  • Ensure payroll calculation accuracy while also ensuring that the procedures are compliant with the Canadian legislation and prepare governmental reports
  • Maintain the compliance of the company with the different labour laws
  • Respond to any queries on administrative files, payroll, benefit programs, current processes and policies of the Company

Recruitment & Onboarding of new employees

  • Conduct the recruitment files with and without agencies depending on the positions
  • Confirm new hires after satisfactory probation period
  • Perform HR data entry when opening employee files and update employees' files
  • Prepare the checklist for the orientation and integration of new employees and conduct and/or follow-up on the orientation activities of new employees
  • Monitor the orientation and integration of the new employees

Health & Safety

  • CSST and Normes du Travail facilitator
  • Act as an advisor to employees and managers regarding occupational health and safety
  • Promote and coordinate prevention activities
  • Process and monitor work-related accident cases

The ideal candidate will have the following skills and qualifications:

  • Completed college or university diploma in human resources, business administration or in a related field, or the equivalent in work experience
  • Advanced bilingualism (spoken and written)
  • Must have a minimum of 2 years of payroll experience
  • Experience with ADP's Pay at Work software (a definite asset)
  • Experience in Human Resources (an asset)
  • Good knowledge of Word, Excel, Outlook, Power Point
  • Member of the Ordre des conseillers en ressources humaines agréés (CRHA) (an asset)
