PAYROLL TECHNICIEN

Artemis goes hunting! We are currently looking for a Payroll Technician (USA experience) for one of our clients located in the Montreal. This role is a permanent role with a lot of stability.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Timesheets are to be received every Monday morning.

· Verify all hours are calculated correctly, adding over time, commission, on call, bereavement, sick, vacation, retro, holidays,

· Hire, rehire, and terminate employees (report national hires to sister offices)

· Update employee files

· Background checks

· Process Federal and State taxes

· Process Levy's for employees

· Annual increases across the board

· Process and update Benefits (Yearly or if any employee changes benefits)

· Verify vacation and sick time for employees

· Process Payroll, enter all hours accordingly, balance them and audit them in software before putting through

· Enter all payroll in our in-house excel spreadsheet (Timesheet 2018)

· Emails are to be kept adding sick, vacation, or any other changes for the employee’s payroll

· Allocate all taxes for each property (GL)

· Enter General Ledger for Payroll

· Assist employees with any inquiry (Customer service support)

· Update any changes in pay system

· Updating procedures in US and Canada

· Internet re-search for localities- new taxes

· Prepare US transfers

· Keep US taxes up to date

· Assisting Canadian payroll when help is needed

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must be bilingual (verbal & written)
  • Strong interpersonal and verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Customer service orientation
  • 3+ years experience in payroll
  • Experience in USA Payroll (a MUST)
  • At ease with Excel, Word, with strong computer & internet search capability skills
