Reporting to the Director - Talent Management, the Training Advisor is responsible for organizing training approaches and skills development activities that meet the various sectors' needs, working closely with the management teams and local HC partners. He/she also works on implementing the innovative talent development practices and initiatives in the strategic plan.

More specifically, the Training Advisor:

  • Guides the development of skills profiles by work teams and supports the implementation of training plans to develop skills for the organization's various functions
  • Assesses employee and team needs and designs appropriate learning paths
  • Advises managers on suitable types of training activities and helps identify internal and/or external expertise
  • Recommends and helps implement new approaches and tools such as e-learning, communities of practice, and so forth
  • Provides expertise in adult education to support managers, designers and learner support staff (trainers, tutors, etc.)
  • Supervises the development and dissemination of instructional materials by designers and instructors (internal, external, functional specialists)
  • Develops strategies to evaluate learning, transfer to the workplace, and the quality of skills development activities
  • Serves as corporate expert on skills development for various partners
  • Participates in the department's annual activity and program planning and budgeting process
  • Stays abreast of best practices and trends in his/her field


  • Bachelor's degree in human resource management, education, vocational guidance or pedagogy
  • Master's degree in education, management, adult education, etc. (an asset)
  • 10 years of relevant experience in training
  • Familiar with recognized training development tools and practices on the market (e.g. UPK, Captivate, Camtasia, etc.)
  • Project management skills
  • Thorough and well organized
  • Fluency in French and English, spoken and written, is essential
