Position Overview

Reporting to the Human Resources Manager, the Payroll Specialist will manage Canadian, American and European payroll, contributing to the success of the organization.

This is a full-time, permanent position, in accordance with the policies that are in effect at Alvéole.

Role and responsibilities

Canadian & American payroll:

  • Ensure the accuracy of employee payroll data
  • Retrieve data relating to various types of leaves
  • Calculate the value of statutory holidays for salaried employees and employees who are paid on commission
  • Calculate eligible commissions
  • Ensure that the necessary changes are made to employee records relating to personal and remuneration data
  • Ensure the proper payment of bonuses
  • Make the necessary calculations and updates concerning group insurance
  • Ensure the accuracy of government remittances
  • Efficient & regular communication with various managers, to support them in the proper follow-ups of their employees' requests
  • Complete all related tasks

European payroll: 

  • Create and maintain timesheets for employees
  • Ensure the proper transmission of payroll data to the European Accounting firm 
  • Ensure the accuracy of payroll data relating to various types of leaves
  • Remit all relevant payroll & expense documents to the European Accounting firm
  • Ensure employee salary payments via electronic transfer
  • Efficient & regular communication with various managers, to support them in the proper follow-ups of their employees' requests
  • Complete all related tasks

Ideal profile

  • 1-3 years of experience in processing Quebec payroll, in a professional environment
  • Relevant education in Administration, Accounting, Finance or any other related field
  • Relevant payroll certification, an asset
  • Perfectly Bilingual (French and English), written and verbal
  • Knowledge of Ceridian, as asset
  • Knowledge of Google tools
  • Knowledge of Office (Word, Excel)
  • Efficient communicator
  • Autonomous, but collaborative
  • Detail-oriented and versatile
  • Exceptional organizational skills, efficient and rigorous
  • Experience in a small to medium sized company, an asset network
