Our client, WesternTrust, is looking for a Payroll and Human Resources Administrator. The Payroll and Human Resources Administrator will execute all payroll processes and HR administrative functions for WesternTrust's Canadian subsidiary companies. This is a remote position with opportunities for advancement and potential to make a strong, positive impact.

Responsibilities:

• Complete all administrative and accounting functions to execute company payrolls including: gathering payroll data from operations managers, reviewing timesheets, recording vacation and holiday pay, updating compensation changes, verifying cash requirements, and recording payrolls in accounting software.
• Auditing each payroll cycle for issues or errors and reporting findings to management.  
• Monitor changes in HR laws and ensure basic compliance with relevant regulations.
• Complete all administrative functions for employee hires and terminations.
• Handle all onboarding activities for new hires including equipment setup, completing documents, basic training, and ongoing check-ins.
• Develop and maintain strong working relationships across the organization.
• Assist with company recruiting, including the creation of job postings and reviewing candidates.
• Facilitate the creation of training materials such as operating manuals and recorded instructional videos.
• Maintain all company HR documents such as employee manuals.
• Generate reports for management.
• Ad hoc duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• At least 3 years of experience in a similar Accounting and Human Resources role (5+ years preferred).
• Working knowledge of basic Canadian HR practices, regulations, and requirements in British Columbia, Alberta, and Quebec.
• Must be bilingual in English and French.
• Strong accounting and financial skills with experience handling large amounts of data.
• High level of creativity, motivation, and professionalism combined with the ability to think independently and take initiative to proactively solve problems.

• Exceptional attention to detail, organizational, and follow-through skills.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.

Compensation: $25-$35/hr based on qualifications with bonus eligibility.
