Specific accountabilities

The Human Resources Department serves as a strategic partner in executing the organization's business plan, driving talent management initiatives and navigating the future of work, specifically as it relates to the required competencies moving forward and the available options in terms of talent, employment and teams in achieving specified goals. These efforts must be aligned with the organizational culture and the employee value proposition, balance risk against the availability of talent, and comply with Ivanhoé Cambridge's diversity, equity and inclusion vision. Reporting to the Senior Director, Talent Acquisition and Management, you will be responsible for the development, implementation and deployment of talent management initiatives within the organization. With help from your team members, you will collaborate with the organizational development, business partners, talent acquisition, and diversity, equity and inclusion teams.

The main focus of the role will be to align talent management strategy with the organizational strategic plan, continue implementing the succession plan and talent review activities, enhance internal mobility and talent incubation efforts, create career trajectory models, manage promotion requests, identify competencies of the future and engage in other activities.

Specific duties include the following:

  • Develop and ensure the implementation of the talent management strategy in line with the organizational strategic plan and Ivanhoé Cambridge's vision in terms of diversity, equity and inclusion, in collaboration with the HR management team;
  • Develop, articulate and implement programs related to talent management within the organization;
  • Guide and supervise the work of one talent management professional;
  • Oversee presentations and updates related to various talent management initiatives involving multiple stakeholders across the organization, including the executive committee;
  • See to the execution of the organization's succession plans;
  • Oversee initiatives related to the competencies of the future;
  • Monitor the implementation of development plans for members targeted by the succession plan;
  • Assess outcomes of various efforts, monitor programs and define key performance indicators;
  • Oversee the execution of talent review activities, ensure updates of compiled information and monitor progress of talent across the organization;
  • Help develop talent acquisition strategies;
  • Evaluate and enhance internal mobility programs and processes;
  • Oversee the implementation of career trajectory models;
  • Contribute to the advancement of the talent incubation and internship programs;
  • Help draft development plans for new employees during the onboarding process;
  • Carry out other tasks as required.

Key requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in human resources management or a discipline related to talent management;
  • Master's degree in management, organizational development or a discipline related to talent management, an asset;
  • CHRP, CIRC, CTDP, CTP or CEC designation, an asset;
  • Ten or more years of experience in a talent management position within a large organization;
  • Experience in team management, an asset;
  • Excellent command of written and spoken French and English;
  • Proficiency in Word, Excel and PowerPoint;
  • Experience in the analysis and interpretation of psychometric tests;
  • Keen sense of initiative and intrapreneurship, and ability to adapt to change;
  • Strong teamwork skills and good interpersonal relationships at all organizational levels;
  • Strong sense of priorities, ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and work under pressure;
  • Good understanding of business needs and ability to identify performance indicators;
  • Good sense of judgment; strong analytical and integrative skills;
  • Ability to conduct meetings and provide feedback;
  • Proven ability to be tactful, diplomatic and discreet;
  • Experience in an international or multicultural environment, an asset.
