 Human Resources Advisor 

As a member of a dynamic and progressive human resources department, the HR Advisor will be responsible for successfully manage the files assigned to him / her, per the department and the organization's goals and needs, and to deliver positive impacts in payroll, recruitment, HR policies, safety, training, labour relations, regulatory compliance, performance management, and other HR programs.

The activities carried out by the HR advisor are designed to support the department's internal clients: the regional offices of Carmichael Engineering Ltd across Canada. In this position you will take part in the following activities:

  • Strategic HR files will be awarded in many areas, including Legislation Compliance, Compensation, Benefits, and Other Spontaneous Assignments as Needed.
  • Advising and supporting, team leaders and branch leaders on the interpretation and management of HR policies, collective agreements, providing guidance on employment and equal opportunities, on harassment management, health and safety, etc.
  • Participate in the day-to-day management of various HR activities including recruitment, training, occupational health and safety, payroll, attendance, discipline and employee relations.
  • Participate in the administration of absenteeism, holidays, disability leave.
  • Participate in disciplinary actions and advise managers.  
  • Participate in recruitment and selection mandates.
  • Participate in training and skills development initiatives.
  • Educate current and potential employees about company policies related their employment functions, working conditions, safety, compensation, and benefits.
  • Provide resolutions to interpersonal conflicts (e.g., complaints and allegations of harassment).
  • Complete other tasks and participate in other projects.

Requirements

  • University degree in human resources management, industrial relations or equivalent.
  • CHRA / CHRP designation is an asset.
  • 7 to 10years of professional experience as a human resources specialist, advisor or business partner.
  • English/French spoken and written is essential.
  • Excellent spoken and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Good computer knowledge (Strong Outlook, Excel, Word and Teams) (ADP Workforce Now is an asset).
  • Commitment to comply with all provincial labour legislation and best HR work practices.
