About the role

We are looking for an HRIS & Benefits Manager to join our team!

Do you love numbers, reports, data analysis, policy & benefits admin and most importantly…tea? Do you have experience with supporting employees in multiple provinces?  We are looking for a detail oriented and data savvy individual for an 18-month contract as an HRIS & Benefits Manager.

 

This role will look after benefits, auditing, policy creation, data analysis, reporting and HRIS admin. This role is also back up for payroll, and will contribute to various HR projects, answer HR inquiries, and ensure our auditing controls are done correctly and are up to date. This role supports retail, warehouse, and corporate environments.

Responsibilities

Benefits

  • Administration, input, and reporting of all benefit programs from enrollment to termination and serve as the point of contact for all employee inquiries.
  • Oversee and advise on the annual benefit enrollment process, including analysis and recommendations for plan changes to ensure competitiveness in the market.
  • Solve any benefits issues that arise and ensure a good communication with our Benefits supplier.
  • Participate in projects including but not limited to updates to global benefits administration system, short- and long-term incentive administration, Year End, and Survey Management.

 

Audits and data analysis

  • Perform weekly and monthly audits on access, compensation, HRIS, benefits and internal controls.
  • Ensure all compliance audits and reporting are done on time.
  • Participate in annual auditing process with external auditors for SOX compliance

 

HRIS

  • Ensure accurate, timely, employment-related information is recorded in Dayforce/HRIS.
  • Accountable for testing of system configuration changes and new release updates.
  • Identify and create analytics, custom reports and dashboards.
  • Perform system maintenance, including assisting in the review, testing and implementation of Dayforce system upgrades or patches.
  • Open, follow-up on and close tickets with our service provider to resolve issues in Dayforce as needed.
  • Develop training for any HRIS updates, new features, etc.
  • Coordinate with Dayforce and Finance to fix any pay problems within the HR system.

Payroll

  • Calculate vacation pay owing, on request validate regular and non-regular payments for accuracy.
  • Assist with year-end payroll process (T4, RL-1) for all employees.
  • Responsible for analyzing and implementing provincial minimum wage increases
  • Back up for bi-weekly processing payroll

 

HR Administration

  • Ensure that training is taking place, and complete reports to ensure we follow the 1% training for the year.
  • Act as a member of the joint French committee by ensuring compliance, managing concerns and implementing solutions.
  • Answer employee questions related to human resources policies and practices.
  • Assist in the development and administration of company incentive programs, performance appraisal & merit-rating programs.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree/Certificate or Diploma in Information Technology, Business Administration or Human Resources
  • 3-5 years of experience as HR Generalist
  • Minimum of 1 year experience with HRIS Dayforce is required
  • Understanding of core HR processes including Compensation, Benefits, Payroll, Performance Management, Time Tracking and Absence Management
  • Experience investigating, analyzing, testing and implementing system applications
  • Experience in SOX guidelines & internal auditing
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal & adaptability skills
  • Ability in leading a team
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, detail oriented & demonstrated ability to lead and execute assigned projects
  • MS Office skills including Excel and PowerPoint required
  • Current working knowledge of federal and state/provincial compensation & benefit laws and regulations
  • Excellent organizational, time management, and project management
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced and deadline-driven environment;
  • Must be self-directed and able to work in a team-based environment
  • Experience working in a publicly traded company an asset
  • Member of CHRP/CRHA an asset
  • Retail industry experience an asset
  • Payroll experience an asset
