Be part of the adventure:

Reporting to the Chief Ethics and Compliance Officer, you will work closely with the rest of the Ethics and Compliance team on day-to-day operations related to enforcing the Code of Ethics and other policies.

Main responsibilities include the following:

  • Assist in implementing a framework for ethics and compliance and in ensuring adherence to the Code of Ethics and other policies, under the supervision of the Chief Ethics and Compliance Officer;

  • Provide support in enforcing the rules of conduct set out in the Code and other policies and in using tools and systems for ethics- and compliance-related activities and operations;

  • Review and process employee declarations and enquiries related to the Code of Ethics and other policies in a timely manner; follow up as necessary for questions that are especially complex or require particular care, referring to other Ethics and Compliance team members as needed;

  • Provide support to privacy-related initiatives undertaken by the team;

  • Conduct research into issues related to criminal activity and potential reputational risks involving Ivanhoé Cambridge's investment partners and suppliers as part of the due diligence process;

  • Contribute to drafting recommendations aimed at reducing the risk of financial crime and protecting the Company's reputation;

  • Ensure the quality and accuracy of information, document issues and produce various management reports to inform recommendations and identify the proper course of action or monitor activities to ensure adherence to the Code and all other policies;

  • Help update, improve and implement processes, procedures, tools and systems related to the Code and other applicable internal policies;

  • Assist with special projects and other Ethics and Compliance team duties as needed;

  • Carry out related tasks and duties commensurate with the position.

The toolbox we are looking for

  • College diploma (DCS) in legal or administrative studies or an equivalent combination of education and experience;

  • Five or more years of experience in an administrative position;

  • Experience with a compliance or legal affairs team, a significant asset;

  • Ability to work in a highly computerized environment;

  • Focus on optimizing the use of information technology and implementing business best practices;

  • Highly methodical and detail-oriented with the utmost commitment to confidentiality;

  • Self-starter; comfortable working independently and as part of a team;

  • Excellent multitasking and prioritization skills;

  • Ability to handle tight deadlines;

  • Strong ability to communicate professionally in both written and spoken French and English. Oral and/or written interactions with external partners based outside Quebec (service providers, law firms, peers, bankers, brokerage firms, credit analysis firms, credit agencies, etc.)
