Reporting to the Human Capital Operations Manager, the Human Capital Specialist develops and implements a strategic action plan for recruiting unionized, hourly and student personnel for the entire Canada Operations HC team.

In addition, the HC Specialist provides occasional in-plant support (across Quebec) for human resource management-related activities (health & safety, labour relations, training, etc.). 

This position requires mobility depending on the need.

More specifically, the Human Capital Specialist:

  • Develops and implements strategies and tools to attract innovative candidates (via the Web, networking, schools, Open House events, etc.) and follows up on recruitment-related activities.
  • Represents the organization at Career Days and various recruitment activities.
  • Provides staff with support and process / systems expertise in the hiring process, supports the HC Operations management team for activities, meetings, producing reports, action plans and other projects.
  • Advises managers on application of the collective agreement, manages the grievance process and implements settlements.
  • Prepares the health and safety action plan, coordinates preventive and corrective actions, and follows up.
  • Leads the Health & Safety Committee.
  • Manages workplace accidents and promotes employee rehabilitation.
  • Coordinates training, organizational development and performance management activities.

What we are looking for:

  • Bachelor of Business Administration with a major in Human Resources Management or Industrial Relations.
  • Available to travel to our plants across Quebec for varying periods of time.
  • Proficient in English and French (written and spoken).
  • Member of the Ordre des CRHA and experience in a unionized manufacturing environment (an asset).
