Provides expert advice and counsel related to talent acquisition & retention strategy and design to execute on the enterprise digital talent strategy. Supports/defines the strategic direction, program design and execution of the talent program for Digital. Completes specific operational / strategic work to deliver business results and/or minimize risk.

  • Acts as a trusted advisor to assigned business/group.
  • Influences and negotiates to achieve business objectives.
  • Assists in the development of strategic plans.
  • Identifies emerging issues and trends to inform decision-making.
  • Provides actionable design/development requirements to help define & advance enterprise talent acquisition strategies.
  • Helps determine business priorities and best sequence for execution of business/group strategy.
  • Conducts independent analysis and assessment to resolve strategic issues.
  • Builds effective relationships with internal/external stakeholders.
  • Ensures alignment between stakeholders.
  • Designs and produces regular and ad-hoc reports, and dashboards.
  • Builds change management plans of varying scope and type; leads or participates in a variety of change management activities including readiness assessments, planning, stakeholder management, execution, evaluation and sustainment of initiatives.
  • Leads or participates in defining the communication plan designed to positively influence or change behaviour; develops tailored messaging; and identifies appropriate distribution channels.
  • Develops talent acquisition communications for senior leader and Board of Directors, as required.
  • Develops solutions and makes recommendations based on an understanding of the business strategy and stakeholder needs.
  • Provides advice and guidance for the enterprise and/or assigned business/group on implementation of talent acquisition solutions.
  • Breaks down strategic problems, and analyses data and information to provide talent acquisition insights and recommendations.
  • Monitors and tracks performance, and addresses any issues.
  • Gathers and formats data into regular and ad-hoc reports, and dashboards.
  • Enhances subject matter expertise and keeps abreast of talent acquisition trends by reading journals and articles, and assists in the research, assessment and customization of internal and external information relevant to the theory and practice of talent acquisition.
  • Collaborates with internal & external stakeholders to provide business context in the design, develop and implementation of talent acquisition solutions.
  • Provides input the planning & implementation of talent acquisition programs/solutions and executes within required service level agreements and standards.
  • Supports development and execution of strategic initiatives in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Focus is primarily on business/group within BMO; may have broader, enterprise-wide focus.
  • Provides specialized consulting, analytical and technical support.
  • Exercises judgment to identify, diagnose, and solve problems within given rules.
  • Works independently and regularly handles non-routine situations.
  • Broader work or accountabilities may be assigned as needed.


  • Typically between 5 - 7 years of relevant experience and post-secondary degree in related field of study or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
