As a member of the Strategic Sourcing team, you will be involved in the sourcing and supply management processes in one or more categories. In this role you will be supporting the sourcing process including the evaluation of suppliers and preparation of recommendations for decision makers. This role may include supporting spend reporting, savings-related savings forecasts, calculations, presentations, reporting, pricing file preparation and pricing analysis.

You also be involved in reviewing Statements of Work and may occasionally negotiate simple pricing or terms with suppliers. You will help communicate policy and processes to business managers and requesters, and will interact with suppliers on pricing, terms or performance.

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? – We’d love to work with you if:

  • You have 1 to 2 years of Strategic Sourcing, procurement or supply chain experience and an understanding the procurement lifecycle; knowledge of contingent workforce or services a plus
  • You have excellent communication skills (oral and written) and can interact with different stakeholders in various settings (e.g. operational communication, formal communication). This includes suppliers and internal stakeholders, and situations of collaboration as well as communicating difficult messages such as policy or compliance requirements.
  • You have strong work ethic
  • You are very well organized, and can manage multiple priorities and types of work
  • You are comfortable working with and analyzing large amounts of data using Excel
  • You adapt well to a constantly changing business environment and priorities, and can drive projects to completion
  • You hold a post-secondary diploma/degree in management, business, or related field; master (MA or MSc) in business or related field is preferred
