What will your typical day look like?

In FY20, the Chief Culture and People Office (CCPO) developed a Culture and People Strategy for 2023 – a roadmap that will guide enablement of the broader firm Category of One strategy by inspiring and empowering our people and delivering “I only could have done it at Deloitte” experiences. Reporting to the Director, People Experience Program Services, the Total Rewards Senior Manager, within the Culture and People Office, leads the requirements to support Deloitte Canada’s national compensation philosophy and strategy, including the design of base salary and incentive plans that are aligned to the businesses goals and strategy. Additionally, this role will present our Total Rewards offerings, key findings, analysis and outcomes to internal Leader stakeholders, including our C-Suite executives, for input and buy-in.

To achieve this, you will:

  • Provide exceptional leadership to the Total Rewards team to drive results through engagement, collaboration and outcomes; Build team members’ capabilities by providing leadership and guidance on day-to-day compensation management, project work and technical training
  • Design, evaluate, and implement total rewards programs while ensuring our programs are competitive and support long-term goals
  • Lead the compensation strategy and frameworks that support the business goals and objectives
  • Provide leadership on processes and activities related to mid-year and year-end compensation review cycles, including market data analysis, and work closely with Finance to advance and manage Deloitte’s financial and compensation planning activities
  • Proactively identify gaps in processes and make recommendations for improvements to enable efficient delivery
  • Evaluate and review incentive/bonus programs in support of business goals to ensure alignment with Deloitte’s Total Rewards Principles, legal and other regulatory requirements
  • Create a job evaluation plan and evaluate jobs
  • Complete Pay Equity analysis for Ontario and Quebec
  • Monitor program effectiveness and efficiencies
  • Provide input to policies and updates for Total Rewards
  • Act as trusted advisor to senior leadership on Total Rewards matters and serve as the escalation point for inquiries
  • Have a strong understanding of different total rewards options and technology enablers and make recommendations on delivery options and services
  • Collaborate with other project teams in the Culture and People Office as well as Service Line Leaders and Talent Directors to identify opportunities to align initiatives with the integrated Total Rewards strategy and identify areas of enhancements
  • Champion a culture where Team Members are given the opportunity to practice wellness and feel empowered to take ownership of their well-being

You are someone who has expertise in the following areas:

  • 8-10 years of progressive corporate Total Rewards experience with an emphasis on managing and executing multiple initiatives and process enhancements; Passionate about elevating the employee experience, corporate Total Rewards, approaching the challenge from a user-centric design perspective, and bringing fresh ideas and creative thinking to the table;
  • Strong Total Rewards industry and market knowledge of competitive landscape
  • Deep understanding of compensation administration and financial modelling
  • A team player with a natural propensity to build and leverage strong internal networks to get the job done
  • A strong communicator, compelling storyteller and influencer with the ability to gain support and sponsorship from a variety of stakeholders
  • Ability to use data to make informed recommendations, ask thought provoking questions, and bring fresh thinking to the table
