Specific Job Description

Human Resources lead for Lockheed Martin Canada's Rotary Mission Systems (RMS) Business Unit supporting Senior Executive Management team and 650 employees across multiple sites. This position will lead multiple HR business partners and leverage the Global Human Resources Centres of Expertise (COE) and other functions needed to deliver HR strategy, initiative and program delivery. Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Serving as the trusted HR advisor to the RMS Business and Senior Leadership team
  • Accountability for long term strategic HR planning
  • Ensuring RMS Programs are appropriately resourced through external talent acquisition strategies and high value talent management/development initiatives
  • Delivering HR data, analysis and recommendations to new business opportunities, resource planning and program bids/pursuits
  • Assessing and monitoring workforce risks to the RMS Business and the Country Human Resources Lead for Canada
  • Identifying opportunities for HR to engage effectively with management, functional leads and team leaders to provide continuous and innovative initiative HR solutions.
    • Assisting and support in the development of the business strategy by understanding the market and customer environment at the site
    • Participating in Senior Leadership Team (SLT) weekly meeting and monthly Operations Performance Reviews (OPR) ensuring HR programs statuses and metrics are shared with the team.
    • Working with the leadership team to develop an effective employee engagement strategy to reduce attrition and improve performance.
    • Keeping current with existing programs and new business opportunities and participating in New Business Board (NBB) reviews, ensuring HR issues are discussed and shared within the wider HR team
    • Developing a workforce strategy to ensure we have the appropriate skills and level of employees to execute the current and future programs within the LM Canada MST IWSS business.
    • Assessing and developing the leadership team to ensure they are engaging and energizing the workforce, driving flawless execution and meeting customer requirements.
    • Providing guidance on organizational structure and alignment to meet the ever-changing needs of the business.
    • Developing HR strategy to support the unique requirements and challenges of the business.
    • Coaching and consulting; developing selection and retention strategies, resolving employee relations situations, and delivering on HR programs (i.e. Performance Management, Rewards and Recognition, Merit & Promotion, Talent & Compliance, etc).
    • Being proactive in identifying resources and formulating actionable recommendations/options for leadership.
    • Oversees and coordinates requirements for demonstrating compliance with the Federal Contractor’s Program/Employment Equity.

Required skills, qualifications and experience

Previous experience in a Senior HR Generalist, Senior HR Business Partner role or experience in a Lead Functional HR position (Talent Acquisition, Organizational Development, HRBP Lead)

  • Minimum 15 year of experience in human resources;
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Business Administration, Social Sciences or Arts.
  • Demonstrated experience in operating in a complex matrixed organization
  • Experience and interest in serving with and supporting senior executive management team
• Demonstrated experience in executive coaching and working with senior leader with in your organization
  • Demonstrated experience in formulating HR strategy and execution of HR initiatives.
  • Demonstrated experience in successfully conducting investigations to include information and data gathering, analyzing information, and validating conclusions
  • Strong business and financial acumen

Desired skills, qualifications and experience

  • Certified Human Resource Leader (CHRL) or equivalent HR designation
  • Experience in operating in a Program Capture and Delivery business model
  • Experience implementing HR initiatives leading organizational development and change
  • Strong and confident communicator
  • Effective relationship management, influence and collaboration skills
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment
  • Working in a culture focused on business growth
  • Experience with SAP, SuccessFactors and Peoplesoft HR
