Reporting to the Director, Leadership and Total Rewards, the Manager, Total Rewards is accountable for the planning, design, development, implementation and administration of the corporate management and executive compensation programs, as well as the Benefits and Rewards programs for the entire organization, including perquisites and allowances.
With exceptional people leadership and analytical skills, the ideal candidate will bring deep subject matter expertise through a minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in Total Rewards along with a proven track record of leading and developing high performing teams through progressive leadership experience.
We need an HR thought leader who has the ability to use analytical tools to inform business decisions by designing, building, implementing and communicating policies, programs and initiatives aligned to the HR strategy and overall business goals.
Your success in this role will depend on your proven ability to build and maintain strong relationships with senior leaders and key players inside and outside of our organization and have a proven ability to influence and effectively communicate.
Lead and develop a team of Total Rewards professionals with a goal of leveraging strengths, coaching for performance, and aligning performance with strategy.
Manages the design and implementation of all total rewards related activities and initiatives for the business including compensation, benefits, recognition and perks/allowances.
Works closely with the Human Resources Business Partner and relevant stakeholders to provide advice and recommendations related to Total Rewards.
Strategically monitors and analyzes performance of critical Total Rewards programs through careful attention to market and leading practice, cost effectiveness, and alignment to HR Strategy and business goals.
Manage the overall planning and implementation of annual management compensation programs and benefits programs cyclical review.
Develop/integrate new and/or existing rewards programs, policies and procedures in order to ensure that programs are market competitive, internally equitable, and cost effective.
Effectively manage and collaborate with vendors and external partners, including managing performance of contracts to ensure maximum value of services to NAV CANADA.
Manage and monitor program expenses against capital and operating budgets.
Bachelor's degree or college diploma in Business Administration, Human Resources or related field OR a suitable combination of training and experience
+ years of subject matter experience in Total Rewards (Compensation, Benefits, Recognition)
5+ years of leadership experience with demonstrated success in developing and leading high performing team.
Demonstrated ability to develop strategic business plans for Total Rewards that are aligned to HR Strategy and organizational goals and priorities.
Knowledge of the Regulatory and Legislative imperatives (both National and Provincial) and impacts related to Total Rewards programs.
Knowledge of program development/management techniques.
Strong analytical and financial management acumen, including budgeting, forecasting, and reporting as well as knowledge of relevant taxation implications and impacts on Total Rewards programs.
Judgement is required in the analysis of large, complex financial transactions in support of the compensation and benefit programs.
Experience leading Total Rewards programs in a unionized environment.
Ability to perform the role in both Official Languages.
